Yakima Pride Festival 2007's Blurbs |
About me:
First Fridays is proud to announce our 12th year of presenting and celebrating the Yakima Pride Festival. The Festival will be held on Saturday, June 9, 2007 at Fulbright Park in Union Gap from 10AM to 4PM. Activities will include information from various agencies, vendors, Pride Festival Raffle Tickets (for more information see the RAFFLE blog announcement), a free potluck/picnic and refreshments, great local entertainment including MELANIE DELKER, STAR ANNA, ROB SHERWOOD, JUDY TRIGGS, ALTHEA BRUCE, DJ ADAM O, and more. Speakers include SENATOR ED MURRAY from Seattle, WA, REBECCA THORNTON representing Senator Patty Murray, and KRISTIN EBY, Central Washington Director for Senator Maria Cantwell. There will also be games and community. THIS IS A CHILD FRIENDLY EVENT!!! Bring your blanket and bonnets, sunscreen, etc., and join us for this important celebration of diversity in the Yakima Valley. Following the Festival, the Yakima Pride Dance & You Make the Difference Awards will be held from 9PM-1:30AM at the Yakima Sports Center Restaurant and Lounge (A GREAT SPOT FOR DINNER BEFORE THE DANCE - ERIC HAS PUT TOGETHER A FANTASTIC MENU AND THE STAFF IS FRIENDLY AND ACCOMODATING - shameless plug, I know, I know - but, it's true). A Yakima Pride Youth Dance will be held on Friday, June 8th from 8PM-12AM in downtown Yakima with DJ ADAM O. PLEASE SEE OUR CALENDAR FOR ADDRESSES AND DIRECTIONS TO ALL OF THESE EVENTS. Friends from out-of-town should consider making a weekend of it - check out the many wonderful shops and restaurants in our renovating downtown, take a drive or hike in the Ellensburg Canyon, or visit one of our world famous wineries - there is so much to do, you'll probably run out of time and have to come back, at least once :). Check back often for updates.
