Firearms shooting. A hobby I don't enjoy as often as I'd like but it's still something I'd like to get back into doing again once my vision issues are brought under control.
Video games. I'm not the video game junkie I used to be but I still play on occasion. Right now my current addiction is Mass Effect. That game is absolutely epic!
Grilling out. I will grill out ANY time of the year. Snowing outside? Doesn't matter as you will sometimes find me outside cooking something up. Of course, I do most of my grilling in the summer and it's no exaggeration to say that I spend more money on charcoal to cook than I do electricity.
Political/current events debates. I don't go on chat rooms but I have been known to post on various forums to defend and voice my views on issues that effect us today. HotAir.com and Townhall.com are among my favorites. Oh yeah, Millarworld.net get really interesting too!
Music
Heavy Metal is by far my favorite music but pretty much anything that rocks is cool with me.
Currently, if I had to choose absolutely on band that is my all time favorite, I'd have to go with Lacuna Coil. However, there are so many I love. Within Temptation, Nightwish, Sonic Syndicate, Paradise Lost, Iced Earth, Leaves Eyes, Epica, In Flames, Shadows Fall, Theatre of Tragedy, Flyleaf, Slayer, Metallica (pre-black album), Pantera, Arch Enemy, Type O Negative, Lamb of God, Landmine Marathon, Man O War, Fear Factory, Megadeth, Dethklok, Iron Maiden, Lullacry, Atrocity, Benedictum, Fountain of Tears, Tristania, Trivium, Deadlock, Machinehead, Echoes of Eternity, Walls of Jericho, In This Moment, AC/DC .... I could go on forever.
Movies
Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Lord of the Rings, Underworld, Saving Private Ryan, Black Hawk Down, We Were Soldiers, Boondock Saints, The Patriot, Mad Max, Way of the Gun, Sin City, X-Men, Blade, Dawn of the Dead, Die Hard, Spiderman, 300, Kingdom of Heaven, Grindhouse, Ghost in the Shell, Jaws, Appleseed... I can go on and on and on. Needless to say, I love movies.
Television
The Shield. That show is an absolute guilty pleasure to watch. Battlestar Galactica is a must watch too. I'm also a fan of the majority of the Adult Swim line-up on Cartoon Network. South Park just keeps getting better and better. I watch some news here but mostly I watch documentaries on History, Discovery, Military, National Geographic, etc. Channel. All in all, I actually watch VERY little TV. Why am I paying for digital cable again????
Books
Anything history related, mainly military history. I have several family members who served in the military (mostly WWII) and the experiences they survived has always been of interest too me.
I'm also a huge Tom Clancy fan.
I used to read varius sci-fi and fantasy novels but it's been years since I've bought any of those.
I read a few comics, mostly from the publisher Top Cow.
However, my most prized book collection is my Calvin and Hobbes series of books. I every single book of that excellent comic strip.
Heroes
Being a history buff and very patriotic, the Founding Fathers are a great inspiration to me.
The many family members who served honorably in the military that inspired me to join the military myself after high school.
My parents who raised me to be a responsible and self sufficient person. Also, when medical difficulties were hitting me hard, they were there for me the entire time.
About me: Born and raised in Omaha, Nebraska. I graduated from high school in 1995 and joined the Navy that same summer. I served on the U.S.S. Carl Vinson CVN-70 as a Damage Controlman 3rd Class (E-4). I was Honorably Discharged in the summer of 1998 but continued to serve in the Reserves for a couple years.
Since then I have just been living life and getting by as any other person does. I'm far from rich but I live comfortably which is all I can ask.
