Yak were formed out of the ashes of Acid Fantasy in 1982 and folded in 1984. However, Martin Morgan (Keys) kept the "concept" alive for the next 20 years & finally got round to releasing a CD of 8 Yak tracks - emulating the 4 piece band electronically - in 2004. This CD was called Dark Side of the Duck.
The band reformed on the back of this and the 1st rehearsal in 20 years was held in 2005 & hi-lights released as the CD "Does your Yak Bite?".
In 2006 a second rehearsal manifested itself in Rutland & the jamming from this session too is also available as "The Rutland Chronicles" CD
Since the latter half of 2007 I have been working with Drummer David Speight who also plays drums for Peter Banks (ex-Yes) as well for Nick May's band 'Whimwise' (ex-The Enid) and also for the band 'Yesterdays' (he's a busy chap!). Together with Gary Bennett on bass (from the REGA Project)
Between April & August of 2008 we recorded the "Journey of the Yak" album which was released on 14th November of that year.
So far it has sold 530 copies & raised a few thousand for the charity Tower Hill Stables Animal Sanctuary
The Sanctuary is run by Fiona Oakes who looks after over 400 rescues on her own. Fiona is also an elite marathon runner coming 22nd in London in 2006 and 17th in Berlin. Check her site out at www.towerhillstables.com

A compilation album called "The First Ring" was released in September '09 which features a re-work of the track Aragorn, first released in 2004. The album features 12 different bands & is themed in memory of JRR.
