Yaneka,formed in February 2005,is Yuichiro and Chiyako Maeda, a brother and sister duo from japan.Based in Japan and Europe,their songs are in English,Japanese and "Yaneka language".
Yaneka comes from the Japanese meaning
"Happy Home Roots".
they took this name as an ode to their grandfather's company.
Neither have carried on the tradition of their family trade building Nou-theater ,Buddihist temple and shrine roofs.
Atradition which has been in the Maeda family for 17 generations.
Yaneka's live performances are a must to be seen,full of energey and passion.
Unusually they manage to recreate their produced sound live with Yuichiro simultaneously looping and sampling ( Boss Loop Station RC-50 as offical representant ) to build an ambient platform for Chiyako's vocals.
Yaneka produced the first album "ROOTS" themselves.All the instrumental parts and mixing was done by Yuichiro in a studio build by his father.
Chiyako designed and produced all the artwork for the CD jacket.
Yaneka won the ‘Inspire!UK Audition’, which British Council Japan and EMI Music Japan worked together on in 2007. This award aimed to support young and talented Japanese graduates of UK institutions who want to work in the music and art industries.
As part of their prize, Yaneka recorded 2nd album "You're Free" with swidish folk musican ,Goran Manson and Petter Berndalen at the Abbey Road Studio in London in mid-March 2008, and released a CD album in June 2008. As a result of the award they have launch their international career.
Yaneka is the launch pad for a whole range of goods and art projects in which the whole family take part.They are interested in taking their music to another dimension by providing a ' Yaneka ' experience for all 5 sences .

Chiyako : Trained since a young age in "Naga-uta" (a style of traditional japanese music) Sang as soprano as part of a classical chorus group.
Yui : Attended the music school in the UK and studied rock music.
Has also formed a string quartet and composed classical music.
