Yankee Stadium's Interests
|
| General | Opening the doors to fans young and old, rowdy and peaceful, crazed and casual. Letting my consession stands fill them with delicious treats and cold beer. Keeping my aura riding high and intimidating opposing teams.(PS. I know they say my aura has dissipated, but that is not the case. It is still alive and well. It's the Yankee players who haven't come through as of late. I and Mr. Steinbrenner have provided them with everything they need) I also really enjoy when beautiful female fans plant themselves on my seats. that makes yankee Stadium very happy indeed. | | Music | God Bless America by: Kate Smith, Teenage Wasteland by: The Who, In the 30's-the 70's I used to liek "Take Me Out to the Ballgame," but that got real old so now I really enjoy Enter Sandman by: Metallica. And of course, New York by Frank. | | Movies | Pride of the Yankees, Damn Yankees, *61, I also enjoyed Field of Dreams and the Natural. | | Television | Yes Network. I especially like Yankeeographies. | | Books | Countless books on my history, also any book involving the team I love the New york Yankees. | | Heroes | Number 3 Babe Ruth(The Bambino), Number 4 Lou Gherig(The Iron Horse), Number 5 Joe Dimmagio(The Yankee Clipper), Number 7 Mickey Mantle(The Mick) who hit the longest recorded home run in the history of Major League Basebal 565ft, Number 8 Yogi Berra(Yogi), Number 9 Roger Marris(The true single season HR leader with 61), Number 10 Phil Rizzuto(Scooter), Number 15 Thurman Munson(The Captain), Number 16 Whitey Ford(The Chairman of the Board), Number 23 Don Mattingly(Donnie Baseball, the most beloved Yankee of all time), Number 32 Elston Howard(The first Negro player in Yankees History. I mean "Black"... My appologies, I am still "Old School."), Number 37 Casey Stengel(The Old Professor), Number 44 Reggie Jackson(Mr. October), Number 49 Ron Guidry(Lousianna Lightning). Bob Sheppard who was born on October 12th 1910! (He is still the voice of the Yankees after all these years and he is 95 years old.) John Sterling. The list goes on and on my friends, and there are current Yankee players who will have their numbers retired when there days are done.

Yankee Stadium's Blurbs |
About me:
Tenant: New York Yankees (AL) - Opened: April 18, 1923 - Closed: September 30, 1973 - Reopened: April 15, 1976 - First night game: May 28, 1946 - Surface: Merion Bluegrass. To my friends, I have been around for a long long time. I have seen heroes come and go. Heroes have been born within my walls of concrete and steel, and they have died on the inside while standing in front of a Microphone telling the world that they wouldn't have it any other way. I am a landmark of unequaled proportions in the greatest city in the world. My sons, the players on the greatest franchise to ever exist in the history of sports, have experienced much more glory and adulation than pain and disappointment (that's for the Red Sox to experience). We have not won a championship since the year 2000, but trust in the Yankees, despite their mistakes... despite the mis management of scouting... despite all the close but no cigars they have had in the last half a decade... this I promise... my friends: They will be back. Besides the 80's we have won a championship, in fact more than one, in every decade of my existence. The General will fix our problems. Players who fail to perform under the brightest spotlight will change or change uniforms. (Alex is the goat this year) We will be back. Remember '96. Remember Tino. Remember Donnie Baseball playing through pain to help build a dynasty which he could not experience. Remember Derek Jeter coming in as a rookie, and playing with class to this day. Remember Mo Rivera and his dominance. Remember Scott Brocious and his clutch post season hits, and near flawless play in the field. Remember the Warrior Paulie O'neil. Remember Bernie Williams because you won’t meet a classier man on or off the diamond. Remember Pettite, Cone, Rocket. Forget David Wells and his turncoat ways. Forget the failures of late and look forward to more Red Sox disappointment and a continuation of Success for our boys in pinstripes. The time is now. My time is nearly done. I will cease to exist in 2009, but a brother of mine will be born, and he will continue on with the family tradition of class, grace, honor, success, and bringing home championships. I am the house that Ruth built and I love you all.
