About me:

Hello and welcome to this thing. As you can see, I'm too lazy /inept / lacking in ego to get my own website, but this seems to do the job just as well... At present, most of the stuff you'll want to look at if you've bothered to come this far is under photos. The photos themselves are all pretty self explanatory, which leaves the rest: Tlacuilecatl - having sort of taught myself to paint (proper pictures and stuff rather than dropping paint-filled balloons onto a canvas) I realised many years as a cartoonist had ingrained a certain style into my brush, so I got into the habit of churning out a small painting every week - just rough ideas, experiments, things from photographs, still life and so on, anything by which I might expand my abilities a little. And that's where these come from.; Illustration - the Getty pictures were commissioned (and used) for a Getty Images photographic library catalogue. I was paid handsomely, although the downside was that, with each of these being sort of extrapolated from an existing photograph in said book, some of the photographers were apparently sniffy about my receiving a credit for what is essentially a series of illustrations punctuating different groups of photographs. I didn't get the paintings back and they now reside in a bunker in Utah, but it paid for a trip to Mexico so I can't complain. This section also includes a few of my CD covers, not all of which were for bands I was actually in at the time.; Xochitlacuicatl - covers for CDs (and a cracking 7" vinyl EP) by bands in which I have made noises. We actually sent Dawkins a copy of this record. His secretary eventually wrote back and said something like "Professor Dawkins thanks you for your record and looks forward to listening to it at his earliest convenience." Heh. Heh. Yeah, right.; Hueyteotecuhtin - this is the encyclopedic catalogue of central Mexican Gods I've been working on pretty much forever. It started off as heavily-researched paintings, grew into a heavily-researched book, and where it is now I'm not even sure. I know I have a mountain of study and writing and theorising still to do, and I'm not even certain if the paintings work within it any more. For what it's worth, this comprises a series of 104 paintings of Deities - 52 generally male (Teteotecuhtli), 52 generally female (Teteocihuatl), discounting earlier versions which I rejected for being too crap. To be honest, if I do end up using paintings in this thing, most of those not included here are likely to be revised, as are some of these.; In Mexitin Inchololizhuan - these are larger paintings of Ometeotl (the primal sacred force), Cipactonal and Oxomoco (the ancestral human couple), and a series of five narrating the Mexica migration legend from the exodus from Aztlan to the founding of Tenochtitlan.; The Five Directions - a series of paintings setting out the symbolic associations of the cardinal points of the Nahua-Mexica universe.

Who I'd like to meet:

Bess mainly. Also razor sharp lawyers and easily-bribed US immigration officials.

Loz, when I moved a load of my stuff was left behind. My uncle (70+ conservative catholick, backward) threw out tons of my stuff including all the paintings bar one. That particular painting is gone.About ten boxes of stuff were dumped & my porn & also people cumming to view the house knicked various things. It was all out of my hands.I now have only some photographs of the paintings.
    Life's a bitch!!
