"Mostly it's her talent for pulling her soul out from within and attaching it to her voice for an emotional roller coaster ride for the recipient..." - jazzreview.com
Trained in classical flute and voice, Yasmine has a smooth, sultry jazz sound. Singing with her own trio in New York City, she has recorded a critically acclaimed album, "Wish I Knew" in June 2005. They have been performing at hot jazz spots in Manhattan like Detour and Kavehaz, shining new light on jazz standards as well as Brazilian bossa nova. Recently, the Yasmine Iliya quartet has been successfully expanding into arrangements of pop artists like Sade and Sweetback, bringing a new jazz feel to these laid-back tunes.
