For only $4.50 for half order, $5.50 for regulars or $6.50 for a combination, we dish up entrees, served over rice with two pieces of bread for soppin' up the good stuff.
Some menu regulars include:
Gumbo
Chili Cheese Etouffee
Chicken Creole
Red Beans and Rice
Jambalaya
Spinach and Mushroom Etouffee
Succotash
Maque Choix. | | Movies | This past year, Yats founder and owner, Joe Vuskovich, was featured in "Happiness," a short, independent film about the small pleasures in life that often mean the most.
Joe candidly speaks about growing up in New Orleans, opening his first restaurant with his brother, and his mother's Sicilian cooking. The film was screened at this year's Indianapolis International Film Festival and received top honors at the IMAX Theatre's Really Big Short Film Festival. | | Heroes | Our head honcho, Joe! This year Joe received a Cultural Vision Award from NUVO Newsweekly and Yats recently received FOUR awards from NUVO's Best of Indy issue including:
#1 Best Restaurant
#1 Best Soul Food
#1 Best Cheap Eats
#3 Best Cheap Date Spots
Thanks to all the Yats supporters out there who voted! |

Yats's Blurbs |
About me:
What’s a Yat? Well, I’m a Yat. N’Orleans has a certain segment of its population that has its own way of living life. These cats talk in their own language, have their own schedules they follow separate from the world, and eat their own particular style of food.
The common greeting “Where y’at?” is where they get their name. In English that’s just “How are you doing?” Somewhere along the way I switched from “Where y’at?” to “How you doin'?” but I’m still all Yat. The real thing that all Yats love is to eat, and they don’t just keep eatin' to live - a Yat keeps livin' to eat.
Yats love good food more than anything else, and that’s what my joint is all about. Food that’s so damned good that you don’t need none of those frills like garnishing or a hostess or a toy or somethin'. At Yats, we give you really good food. Just like what a Yat would want.
-Joe

Sweet news about Greenwood!!! Going to have to stop by!!!
Mmm... can't wait for the Greenwood Store! A bunch of us are going to meet there after the March bout for hangover food!
Stopped in for lunch today in B'Ripple. Yum! Please, please, please let us know when your G'Wood location will open. Seriously, I'll volunteer to help. I'd love to run over for dinner, like, every night. Seriously, G'Wood. Soon. Please? :)
Please, oh please, oh please, reconsider a location in Irvington. Ah, you would be such a welcome addition and we would probably try to send everyone of our customers in your direction. Just an idea....

Dear Yats,
The only thing better than the hot steamy instant hunger gratification I get when I visit.....is eating your cold leftovers around 2 in the morning because I can't wait any longer.
