About Yeaboii! - Looking For New Guitarists and drummer
Hey were a four piece band from north wales, connahs quay and sandycroft. we have a rock, pop, punk sound with high energy preformances.
At the moment we'ce started writing some new stuff and its sounding pretty good.
We came 4th out of 24 bands in this years panic promotions battle of the bands. for us this was a massive achievement because of our short time together as a band knocking local favourite bands like i am austin and c-dub soundtrack. so if you fancy a good night out , why not come to one of our gigs .
Were also looking for alot more gigs in the north west area (chester, wrexham, liverpool, crew) if your intrested please message us and we'll get back in touch asap.

Debut Gig - 4th September, Pentre
Academy Images
Of special interest this evening was the debut performance of Yea Boiii – featuring Patrick Davey (vocals), Russ Hirst (guitar), Carl Bowes (bass) and Luke Wardle (drums). If they were nervous, it didn’t show, as this quartet worked through their six song (I bet that you look good on the dance floor, Mr Battenburg, Who’s got a match, Let’s go to Fresco, Ooh what a fatty and Cheeky Cheeky) repertoire with great aplomb.
Their website suggests that they ‘love to play hard ……’ which they certainly did. Amply supported by a very enthusiastic crowd, they rocked the house. Musically this band contains three very promising young musicians, and vocals were well delivered throughout their set.
It is always something of a privilege to witness a first, and although not yet of the same magnitude as the coming together of Hendrix, Redding and Mitchell, to witness this performance suggests that another group of young men are well on their way to establishing themselves, and who knows, with experience ……… . Well done lads, ‘cherry well and truly popped’!
Without any arse kissing I would like to say that I have not seen a band improve this much, not to say they wernt on form there 1st gig, but tonight had them having the crowd hang on every lyric that came out of Pats mouth, rock the fuck out to every riff that Russ layed out, skake to every bass line that carl blasted and bop there head to every drum beat Holly (taking over from Luke for this set) dropped.
In conclusion, who the hell can improve on perfection? I'll tell you who, Yea Boiii, when they covered a Jay Witty tune.
Evening Leader
YeaBoii are difficult to categorise, but whatever they may be they make people smile and laugh with their cheeky songs and bubbly stage manner.
Frontman Patrick is a natural entertainer, and although their music is still in development having been together for only a few months, Yeah Boii have a quick, bright and bouncy pop feel on stage that is definitely sing along material. A strong performance and another evening of high jinx well rounded off.

Yea Boii!
Wellity Wellity Wellity. I honestly can't praise these boys enough. Every single time I see them they get better. I dont know if they are growing in confidence or if its because they are practising more but they are already one of my favourite bands. They managed to work the crowd up to a frenzy on every song which is no easy thing to do.
I do have a critisism though. The fellas covered Cry me a river and I felt along with a few other confidants that Pat should of gone for the high notes. even if he fucked them up it still would have been funny as hell.
But ah well, Except for this Minor thing Fuckin Mint laaaaaaaaa

Yea Boii
Filling the middle slot is often hard to pull off (how much inuendo can you fit into 1 sentence?) which makes it even more impressive that Yea Boii managed to excel in this task. Now a lesser factual, humourous and plain sexy review claimed that Yea Boii were not as on par as the last time that they played, I however disagree, I have said this before and as proved by the quite frankly rabid audience, Yeah Boii just keep on getting better and better every time I see them play. One thing we agree on is Yea Boiis musical talent, as they perfromed there was never a missed beat, the bass line was more bouncy that the castle at my 5th birthday, the guitar was phatter than an American with a free lifetime all you can eat Macdonalds voucher and the singing was fit enought to make you aroused (I do have a gripe which I will come to later though) Another testiment is the song writing skills, if you had lived under a rock and seen the set you would be hard pressed to pick out which choons were covers and which wernt. But Pat, when you sing Cry me a river, please I beg and plead, sing in falsetto. Even if its just for shits and giggles.
Live4Life - Wasted
Next up was everyone’s favourite exclamation. I have to admit that I need to eat my own words here. In past reviews I have been slightly critical about Pat not giving it beans when on stage. I’m not sure if he was possibly on drugs or maybe he just ate his weetabix that morning but his stage presence has changed completely, for the better. All the (yea) boys were all equally as impressive however I think that they were better on Thursdays performance at the Pentre, though this may just be because its there 1 time on a large stage. Of course they were joined by Jay Witty for songs which were highly entertaining. I think I have said it before but Yea Boiii are the only people that could improve on a Jay Witty song and that in itself must be close to God like genius.

Yea Boii, with the now familiar line-up of Patrick Davey (vocals), Russ Hirst (guitar), Carl Bowes (bass) and Luke Wardle (drums). This performance was a complete contrast to the last time I saw them, tonight they commanded the stage during their six track set, this time they showed, poise and great stagecraft combined with energy, passion and an abundance of talent both vocally and instrumentally and it is therefore no surprise that with a performance of this calibre they came out as winners on the night. Four of their tracks will be featured on an imminent E.P. realease - Rumor Mill, Cheeky Cheeky, Just So You Know and Fire, Fire. If they can maintain, or even surpass this level of performance, they will be really strong contenders during the ensuing stages of this competition. Well done guys.
Wasted - BOTB Heat
After the ferociousness of Bystander, Yea Boiii! would have to produce something great to do well on the evening. Yea Boiii!, to their faithful following, did not disappoint, and if I’m honest, they played a lot better than I expected. They were tight, they played hard and fast, and full of energy. Pat, armed with a radio mic, played up to the role of front man fantastically. The band were very confident on stage, and not lacking in any stage presence. Throughout their 20 minute set, they captivated their following and made sure their fans knew exactly who to vote for. Their song writing skills will improve with time, as some of the songs did seem a little under-produced, and they tended to end the majority of their songs the same. However, “Rumour Mill”, in my opinion, is their best song, and this is an example of the kind of work Yea Boiii! can produce, as it was well thought out and had some great riffs. Pat’s overall diction when singing is great, as this can sometimes be a problem with rock bands, and Pat’s lyrics were delivered very well. I also enjoyed the backing vocals – Carl’s screams working well against Pat and Russ’ singing – and I would like to hear more singing from Russ in future, as he does have a very underrated voice – perhaps some harmonies next time lads, eh? Very well played, and well done for getting through guys.
Wasted - BOTB Semi Finals
The final act of the evening, as acknowledged by the band themselves in the brilliant Pat Davey quote: “Hi, we’re Yeaboii! And we’re on last.” Speaking of Pat Davey, the guy is turning into a very good frontman. After this band’s first gig last year, I had my doubts about Pat’s stage presence, but he’s got it down to a perfect art now. He stalks the stage looking like some kind of demented Dimitar Berbatov and has clearly followed House of Pain’s advice to “Jump around.”
It was good to see that the band had added something new exclusively for battle of the bands with their extra section on the end of “Cheeky Cheeky.” The Justin Timberlake cover was a bit of an odd choice but seemed to go down well.
Something I noticed on Thursday, Yeaboii! are by far the sweatiest band in the local vicinity. They outsweat Stokoz to Moscow, and they have the sweat factory (Sweat shop?) Ben Griffiths. Maybe it shows passion. I hope they have good deodorant. No disrespect meant boys. Well played to Carl, Pat, Russ and Luke.
Academy Images - BOTB Semi Final
Yea Boii! completed tonight’s line up. It is questionable whether the final slot in any competition is to a competitors advantage, but any nerves they may have accumulated whilst waiting to go on stage did not materialise, they were awesome. Not only did they collect the gauntlet S.G. had thrown down some two hours earlier, they threw it right back. The Pentre faithful had stayed to watch this quartet, and they were not to be disappointed, throughout their 5 track set, commencing with Fire Fire and culminating with their website demo. Cheeky Cheeky, gave their loyal fan base a real tour-de-force performance to relish. Obviously the late night practice sessions are paying dividends, Russ is developing into a considerable talent on lead, with some wonderful new riffs, Luke’s drumming and Carl’s bass were right out of the top drawer, whilst Patrick’s vocals and ‘frontman’ athletic performance all belied their relative inexperience. It is only eight months since Yea Boii! made their tentative debut at this venue, how they’ve moved forward since then – fast becoming members of the ‘Deeside Elite’, they thoroughly deserved their place, with the equally impressive Slightly Generic, in the final.
Academy Images - BOTB Grand Final
Local rock / alternative quartet Yea Boii opened the evening with a powerful 5 track set (Rumour, Out of 10… Just o you know, Fire Fire and Cheeky Cheeky), throughout which they again demonstrated their rapidly emerging talents – vocally, Patrick (vocals) was well and truly on it from the off, Russ (guitar) and Carl (bass) continue to impress as their riffs get ever more intricate with every performance, whilst Luke’s bourgeoning percussion talent is complemented by a more relaxed demeanour on stage. Their performance this evening was all the more remarkable when one considers that it was only early in September 2008 that they made their debut appearance at Pentre. To make it to the final was an amazing accomplishment, particularly when one looks at the talent they beat to get there. To give the calibre of performance that they did on the night, demonstrably states that these young men have a real passion for their music, underpinned by not inconsiderable talent which they combine most effectively to give top-drawer live performances, all of which augers well for their future development.
