ABOUT MY MUSIC & CD "KALEIDOSCOPE".: Yelena Jurayeva was born in Almaty, a big sity in Kasachstan. She was fascinated and deeply affected by this country with infinite open velds, high snow covered mountains, clear rivers and lakes. Nature is an important source of inspiration for her music and her personality.
Aged 21 she moved to Germany, upgrading her musical education and performing experience. Today she appears at numerous concert venues in Europa and Asia.
"People on earth are separated by many things. Music however is able to bring humans together, irrespective of their mentality, social position, roots and life experience. I look at music not only as a number of various sounds, but as a complex statement of history,pictures, colorful decoration, dance and my own charisma".
Her first solo album already includes different styles of music like jazz, pop and classical music. It is meant as a reference to globalisation, therefore entitled "OVER THE RAINBOW". Her second album "KALEIDOSCOPE" represents a multicolored circle, bringing FOUR MAJOR IDEAS together on one
disc: TIME- composers like I.S.Bach, P.I.Tchaikovsky and W.A.Mozart, different styles of music such as classical, -jazz,- world-and pop-music.CULTURE-the music is influenced by eight diferent countries.COLOR-framing everything like a kaleidoscope.ORIGINAL COMPOSITIONS- consisting of many special paradigms,i.e.Brasilian Samba in 7/4 or changing rhythms inside of the composition "Toys".The adaptation of classical opuses, integrated in various styles like jazz,pop and bossa-nova groove create an exceptional self-containing sound.Yelena translated for example the Präludium in h-moll BWV 893 from I.S.BACH into Modern Jazz, October by P.I.TCHAIKOVSKY into a Bossa Nova groove and W.A.MOZART's Sonata in C-Dur KV 330 into pop music........................................................................

BIOGRAPHY.: Born in a family of professional musicians, PIANIST and COMPOSER Yelena JURAYEVA was raised in Kasachstan.Her mother is a academic teacher for piano at the Hochschule für Musik und darstellende Kunst"/ Frankfurt am Main , her father is performer and music teacher for drums at the Jewish Community for young people.Yelena studied at the Tchaikovsy's Music College, at the University of Music in Almaty/ Kasachstan and in the Frankfurt University of Music and Performing Arts, concluding both: klassical music and jazz.During her education she won several prices, among others the first price at the Tchaikovsky Competition in Astana/Kasachstan in 1996.In 2002 she was admitted with her two own Formationen by the Yehudi Menuhin Foundation "Live Music Now".In 2007 she received a scholarship for New York from the city of Frankfurt am Main.From 2001 till 2004 she was conducting the gospel choir of the christian community in Poppenreuth/Bayern, later she was an accompanist of the choire at the Frankfurt Bettinagymnasium Frankfurt am Main/ Hessen. In 2003 she recorded the CD "YES OR NO", shortly afterwards her Solo Album "OVER THE RAINBOW" was published.In 2006 she formed together with brasilian drummer Angela Frontera and italien bassplayer Franco Petrocca her own trio.In 2008 she recorded the Album "KALEIDOSCOPE", with her own compositions and arrangements of classical pieces like "Preludium in h-moll" from I.S.BACH, P.I.Tchaikovsky's "October" and "Sonata in C-Dur" from W.A.MOZART.....Her concert repertoire contains a wide spectrum of jazz and classical music, her own compositions,arrangements of different styles of music and her own songs...........................................................................
DEUTSCHE BIOGRAPHIE .:
In einer Berufsmusikerfamilie ist aus Kasachstan stammende pianistin YELENA JURAYEVA aufgewachsen. Ihrer Mutter ist zur Zeit Dozentin an der Hochschule für Musik und darstellende Kunst/ Frankfurt am Main, ihr Vater unterrichtet in der jüdischen Gemeinde /Ffm. In dem Musiccollege Almaty/ Kasachstan, Hochschule für Musik/Almaty/Kasachstan und an der Frankfurter Musikhochschule hat Yelena Jurayeva Musik studiert.Ihre Lehrer waren u.a. Karl Berger, Peter Reiter, Christoph Spendel und Thomas Heidepriem.Beim Tchaikovsky-Wettbewerb in Astana/ Kasachstan hat sie 1996 den ersten Preis gewonnen. Im Jahr 2002 wurde sie als Stipendiatin with zwei von ihr gegründeten Formationen bei der Yehudi Menuhin Stifftung "Live Music Now" aufgenommen. Das Jazz- Arbeitsstipendium der Stadt Frankfurt am Main nach New York hat Yelena 2007 erhalten. Weitere Preise und Auszeichnungen wurden von ihr erzielt.Jetzt ist sie Mitglied der erfolgreichen Frauenjazzband "Witchcraft" unter der Leitung von Lindy Hupperstberg.Zur Zeit spielt sie Konzerte in Deutschland und im Ausland mit z.B Martin Gjakonovski, Hubert Winter, Karl Berger, Torsten de Winkel,Norbert Emminger, Jean-Paul Höchstädter , Angela Frontera, Giovanni Gulino, Tony Osanah und Zelia Fonseca. 2003 wurde CD Produktion "Yes or No" gemacht. Danach kam ihre eigene CD -Solo Album "Over The Rainbow"raus, die nächste CD wurde mit der Band"Witchcraft" produziert. 2006 gründete Yelena Jurayeva zusammen mit der brasilianischen Schlagzeugerin Angela Frontera und dem italienischen Bassisten Franco Petrocca ihr eigenes Trio. 2008 hat sie CD "KALEIDOSCOPE" mit ihren eigenen Kompositionen und einigen Arrangements über klassische Werke aufgenommen.Dieses Jahr wird diese CD offiziell auf dem Markt der Musik und Medien veröffentlicht.
