   About YELLOWBELLY
FIRST SINGLE OUT NOVEMBER 20th on PINK BOX RECORDS!! WATCH THIS SPACE!!!........OR CHECK OUT.....www.pinkboxrecords.co.uk .............FOR MORE DETAILS................................................................................................. Yellowbelly are an established UK based 3 piece band producing country pop with a strangely refreshing twist. With soaring melodies, lavish harmonies and contrasting moods they sway from tongue in cheek humour on songs like “Cowboy” and “The Unnatural State of America” where they express their fascination with American music but at the same time mocking it’s symbolism with lines like “I’ve got a million dollar car made of buffalo hide!”. To questioning political and moral issues in “Blood Tainted Love” a dark, intricate and challenging song about religious fanaticism. The threesome are headed up by Gaz Birtles, vocals, sax and occasional guitar, formerly of the eighties synth band The Swinging Laurels who had a whole series of quirky hits in America and the UK, Dave Walton on guitar and vocals and James Lynch, keyboards, bass and vocals. This latter pairing produce an alluring back ground to the strong melodies and rich vocal tones of Mr Birtles and when coupled with his “charming man” image it makes them “must see!” live performers. Extraordinarily rich harmonies and energetic antics leave audiences amused, elated and possibly berated but always smiling. The band have been writing and performing songs together for sometime now and this shows in their ability to effortlessly mingle harmonies and intertwine instrumental parts to dramatic effect and, whilst they concentrate mostly on their own material, you can’t help but come away with head full of melodies and a wry smile. Gaz can also be seen playing sax with “The Beautiful South” and occasionally the “Fun Lovin’ Criminals” at their live performances.

Hi guys, just listening to your music for the first time (believe it or not!) I really like Guess Who’s Lovin’ You, that wouldn’t be out of place on a 60’s record. Shout About It ain’t half bad either… so have some kudos, whatever that is. KUDOS! No, have two. KUDOSSS!!
