Sounds Like
a monkey with bongos.
a monkey with bongos and a jawharp.
a monkey with bongos, a jawharp, and a bass.
a monkey with bongos, a jawharp, a bass and machines.
mainly a monkey.
Who is yellowviolet? yellowviolet is lyrically driven original music powered with bass and percussion.
The idea is simple. The raw energy that is obtained when a song is created can never be emulated. yellowviolet captures that energy by literally recording at that moment, instead of trying to copy it later. In a strange sense, every song is a live recording... recorded one track at a time, as it is conceived.
Since 1995, yellowviolet has been coming up with things that your ears could never have expected - and can't seem to forget. The f'd up subject matter, the catchy rhythms, the constant surprises - yellowviolet can only be truly described by listening to it.
...and listening to it is incredibly easy at yellowviolet.org.
hey man! just stoppin by to tell you that im still jammin to that stuff! very cool stuff. don't let the mayonaise of the world get you too clogged to spice it up!
Hey punk! Thanks for NOT giving me the head's up on the new album. I'm really glad I WASN'T able to stay up all night listening to it on its release day. So how can I get me a real-life (burned) copy of the new CD? Or as least downloadable files? Hook me up YV. Signed, E, President of the now-defunct Yellowviolet fanclub (northern hemisphere)
hahaha just read the lyrics to "final words"... you rock!!!
so, anyway, that's not why i'm here... i just found out that i missed your birthday yesterday, and want to send you much love and wishes for a happy day AFTER your birthday... and many more to come
so the music's slowly coming back, but i've changed gears. i'm now writing, with an old friend from a city i've left, a movie. no aiming at the hollywood, same old story redux, or even a quick hour and a half of sexy entertainment for the feeble minded, this will take some work. but we're on the road to a great FILM, not one of those piles of shit the media love so much to nut all over, this will actually spawn thought. uh oh.. people thinking? this could cause some trouble.
just updating a fellow musician on the current works of someone from a similar community. still lovin those cd's by the way. i've ripped one of them to my computer so i can put it in my mp3 player. so ya i've been takin your tunes with me to wherever it is i find myself sometimes. quite a few people down here have actually dug on it. you should be proud. south texas isn't notorious for it's open minded music lovers. well maybe austin, but even they are sticking their heads up their own asses.
