Yenisley- noun (Yenis-lee): A unique soul with loads of talent immersed with passion and an admirable personality. This singer/songwriter was born in Havana, Cuba and came to the U.S. at the tender age of three. Prior to leaving her country of birth, Yenisley’s little hands would grab her mother’s hairbrush to use as her mic, and would capture the attention of family and friends as she persuaded them with her charm to stay and watch her “grand show.” Her parents knew that there was something special about their little girl. She was destined to have a better future than the one they were experiencing, and they gave her the gift of freedom to dream big and have the opportunity to make it a reality. That same year, the three of them stepped foot on foreign soil which made this little girl feel extremely timid and homesick. The only thing she found refuge in was listening to her static filled radio that was given to the family out of charity. The radio that was someone else’s trash instantly became this little girl’s treasure as she would perform in front of a mirror and feel her timidness melt away. When she began elementary school she joined the choir even though she didn’t speak any English. She immediately began to open up and auditioned for the choir solos. Getting her first solo meant the world to her; she couldn’t sleep for nights due to her intense excitement! The feeling she experienced in front of a real audience for the first time made her tear up with unbearable emotion as she heard the loud applause. That night was life changing; at that moment she was assured 200% that this was what she wanted to do for the rest of her life. In seventh grade she auditioned and got accepted into a very prestigious performing arts school for musical theatre. This very difficult school taught her the essence of competition, hard work and perseverance. It polished and exposed her triple threat capabilities. At fourteen, Yenisley began putting melodies to her previously written lyrics. From that point on, her songwriting skills began rolling full force. Two years later at sixteen, her school was nominated and selected to represent the U.S. at The Fringe Festival in Scotland as well as several theatres in England. Among hundreds of extremely talented students, Yenisley was chosen to perform on several international stages! Throughout high school and after graduation she continued to perform in several festivals and musicals. Yenisley was spotted by a local celebrity dj and this is what was said, “ A voice that stops you in your tracks! I have heard Yenisley sing a number of times and every time she leaves me speechless. She’s awesome…” Jennifer Ross (97-9 WRMF). Yenisley is currently co-writing and co-producing her debut album entitled “This Is Me.” She is known by all to go non-stop and has never given up on her life long dream. Yenisley along with her extremely talented production team, concentrate on making her songs marketable and competitive to what’s currently out there. Her charisma and smile attracts audiences of all ages! She writes and sings in both Spanish and English and her main goal is to conquer both markets. She attains the American mentality and dreams, but has never let go of her Spanish roots. This unique combination allows her to effortlessly attract and identify with both cultures. In return, these qualities allow her audience to simply fall in love with her. Yenisley has always had the heart of a lion and has always believed that nothing is unreachable as long as you work hard and believe. Her favorite quote of all time is, “Before the REALITY comes the DREAM.” Yenisley is anxious to show the world that she is as unique as her name, as beautiful as her soul and as hard working as her passion!
