   About yer cronies
yer cronies (yer_kroh-nees) Spanish Trans: sus camaradas

Cro·ny - a close friend or companion; chum.

Maybe it began in a thunderstorm. Maybe it was a snowstorm. I think it was in a basement. I think the moon was full. Or waning. Perhaps waxing. I remember some warmth, some itching. I’m pretty sure there was music. I know there was a light somewhere. In fact, I’m positive about the music.

Michael popped out first, wearing glasses. Greg came last, the only one with hair on his head. Everyone cried but Jared, then again he wasn’t breathing at first, cord wrapped around his neck. Later on, when the blue left his face, he smiled a little. Casey had the reddest cheeks but the hairiest upper lip. They all had innies. They all played music. It was a cesarean birth. They called themselves: yer cronies.

PRESS:

"The band on the whole balances taut elegance with unbridled electricity... We definitely have a contender for local debut of the year here" (Chris Riemenschneider, Star Tribune).

"Yer Cronies exist in the same Neil Young-influenced sphere as Band of Horses and My Morning Jacket. But, like MMJ on their most recent album, they're not afraid to dabble in Radiohead-style experimentalism as well as various strains of '70s AM radio. "When I Grow Up" is all but guaranteed to show up on local year-end lists" (Ross Raihala, Pioneer Press).

"Stands out... this is a 'buy it' CD" (David de Young, How Was The Show).

"I like what 'Friendship' sounds like. It's melancholy but not despondent. It's anxious but not frenetic. It's expansive but still somehow raw... 'When I Grow Up' is an astonishingly mature, thoughtful, restrained when needed, daring when justified, rock n' roll record" (Michael L. Walsh, City Pages).

"One of yer best new bands... overall, 'When I Grow Up' is an almost overwhelmingly strong debut" (Minnesota Daily).

Top 10 Local Album of The Year: "This wailing, symphonic, haunting record is music to have a deju vu experience to or to play while lying in a field, staring at the clouds" (Chris Roberts, The Current - MPR).

"Yer Cronies present the perfect soundtrack to really inappropriate public promiscuity. It sets the mood" (Erin Roof, City Pages).

Blood Root Mother will be playing at Trocaderos in Minneapolis on Friday, June 26th. I cannot stress enough how awesome this show will be!! We're playing with three of the sweetest local rock bands: Claret, Niobium and Casanatra. If you haven't heard these guys, check them out immediately! Please come to this show!!

I recommend stopping by during happy hour for two for one drinks along with free buffet, which is delicious. We'll be hanging out at Trocs all night, so come by and chill/party with us :)

Again, here's the event info:

ITS TIME!<br /><br /><br />Project Project 2 (look, listen, dance, repeat) is back for another round of multimedia madness. Join us at the Kitty Cat Klub at 9pm on Friday March 27th to witness an event described as:<br /><br />"an immersive, multi-sensory aesthetic experience" TC Daily Planet<br /><br />"A patchwork of buzzing circuitry and discarded sonic limbs, this new being thrives in the spaces between this and that. It is organic. It is artificial. And in numbers, it thrives." City Pages<br /><br />For this installment we're not dicking around, we've got CD release by Ghost in the Water, a premier screening of Nobot/Beeple multimedia collaboration, and dueling DJ sets from DJ Bach and DJ Gigamesh. Also performances from Nobot and Estate, art and design by Soar Studios, film screenings from Jon Thompson and donebestdone.<br /><br />Hope to see you all there!
