YERUBILEE'S BIO:
Yerubilee's vibration takes a roots reggae sound into an Israeli mode complete with a super-sweet string section, jazzy horns, and electric Davidic harp recovered from the files of ancient Middle Eastern archeology.
Yerubilee infuses plenty of pop melody and structure into rocksteady rhythms to create a definite vibe all their own. Band leader Teddy Chadwick directs with shout-outs plus electrified 10-string lyre for a heavenly zing to the high frequencies. Yerubilee's musicians are based in Jerusalem, Israel where they have recorded a studio album.
Based in Jerusalem, Israel, the band name "Yerubilee" is a morph of "Yerushalayim" (Jerusalem) together with "Jubilee," meaning "celebration in Jerusalem:" being brought out from oppression and slavery into freedom; from war into peace and harmony. This is music founded on true joy.
Spiritually speaking, Yerubilee is on the Judeo-Christian side, seeking to lift up the Most High through their music, lives, and relationships. Many of the lyrics are taken directly from the Psalms (Tehillim). Yerubilee's joyful sound celebrates the soon coming of the Messiah who will bring final and lasting peace to the earth, when "righteousness and peace have kissed each other." (Psalm 85:10)
