As one of the latest bands to emerge from an exploding Northern Irish music scene, Yes Cadets are already whipping up a storm well beyond their native Belfast.
Taking the working man's ethic to rehearsal, they spend every available hour locked up tweaking synths, samplers and space-echoes and refining what has become a live show to be reckoned with. Their heady cocktail of hook-laden electro-pop, post-rock dynamics and lyrical barbs is causing quite a stir on both the stage and the airwaves, garnering air-play on BBC Radio 1, 1xtra, 6music and BBC Radio Ulster and a host of international festival appearances.
"The most exciting new band in the country" - Rigsy (BBC ATL)
"If you haven't heard of Yes Cadets yet, you're going to... tipped for big, big things in 2009/2010." - Rory McConnell (BBC Radio 1)
"Some bands take their time to befriend you, others such as Belfast-based Yes Cadets shoulder charge their way to the head of the queue through brazen tunefulness. This is sheer sonic wizardry, the sparring vocals, the intriguing left turns and hook-laden loveliness sure to leave the listener well and truly entranced." - Francis Jones, Hot Press Magazine
