    Tony's Interests
Generalplaying guitar, listening to new music, pleasure reading, watching movies, watching baseball (H.S., AAA, MLB, it doesn't matter . . it's all good), cooking up a tasty meal for myself, Peace on Earth and Goodwill towards, uh, Canada?
Musicguh. A true list of the music I like and listen to regularly would be entirely too long to bust out right now, but I recently wrote out this compendium of some of my favorite albums (excluding compilations and live albums, which, if included, would probably double the size of this list since I really REALLY love live albums), and from this you can get a handle on some of what I listen to. So, I present to you a partial listing of Tony's Favorite Albums Ever (in no particular order): The Beatles -> Abbey Road, Help!, Rubber Soul, Revolver, Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, Let It Be; Pink Floyd -> Dark Side of The Moon, Animals, The Wall, Wish You Were Here; The Red Hot Chili Peppers -> Blood/Sugar/Sex/Magic; Roger Waters -> The Pros And Cons of Hitchhiking; Led Zeppelin -> Zeppelin, Zeppelin II, Zeppelin III, Zeppelin IV, Houses of The Holy, Physical Graffiti, Presence; Eric Clapton -> From The Cradle; Dave Matthews Band -> Under The Table and Dreaming, Crash, Before These Crowded Streets; Paul Simon -> Graceland, Rhythm of The Saints, Eponymous; The Beach Boys -> Pet Sounds; U2 -> Joshua Tree; The Who -> Tommy, Quadrophenia; The Doors -> The Doors; The Rolling Stones -> Beggar's Banquet, Let It Bleed; Bob Dylan -> Blood On The Tracks, Highway 61 Revisited, Blonde On Blonde, The Freewheelin' Bob Dylan; Cake -> Prolonging The Magic; Coldplay -> A Rush of Blood To The Head; David Bowie -> The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and The Spiders From Mars; Death Cab For Cutie -> Plans; David Gray -> White Ladder; George Harrison -> All Things Must Pass; Paul McCartney -> Band on The Run, Ram; Pearl Jam -> 10; Green Day -> American Idiot; My Chemical Romance -> The Black Parade; Tom Petty -> Wildfowers; Weezer -> Weezer (The Blue Album); Bright Eyes -> I'm Wide Awake It's Morning; Hepcat -> Right On Time; The Decemberists -> The Crane Wife; The Flaming Lips -> The Soft Bulletin; Ben Harper -> Fight for Your Mind; Reel Big Fish -> Turn The Radio Off; The Black Crowes -> Shake Your Moneymaker; Willie Nelson -> Red Headed Stranger; Sublime -> 40 Ounces To Freedom . . . so, as I said, this is very much a partial list, and necessarily incomplete since it excludes live albums and "best of" disks, thus I haven't mentioned some of my absolute favorite artists (like Ben Folds, John Mayer, Johnny Cash, Aerosmith, Miles Davis, Lou Reed, The Mighty Mighty Bosstones, Billy Joel, Joshua Redman, The Seatbelts, Cream, The Mamas and The Papas, CCR, Elton John, etc, etc). I'll work on adding to it some time in the not-to-distant future.
Moviesok, i swear to you all, fellow denizens of myspace, i just spent the last TWO FUCKING HOURS wracking my brain for a few HUNDRED of my favorite films and writing them here. Then I pressed the "Save All Changes" button. Would anyone care to guess what happened? I certainly don't see the incredibly long list I came up with written here in this little box! I mean, jesus-fucking-tapdancing-christmas-hoolahan! What the hell is that all about!?! I've left my Myspace page virtually blank for the last YEAR or so because a similar thing happened to me the FIRST time i tried to write out all my info. What the fuck! *grumble grumble grumble* Sooooo, i'm a little cheesed off at the whole myspace gig right now (fucking two hours of my life down the fucking drain goddamn stupid faulty fucking website bullshit), and I think a break is in order. Suffice it to say i like A LOT of fucking movies. Tarantino, PT Anderson, Eastwood, Scorsese, Kubrick, Miyazaki, Altman . . these are a few of my favorite things. I'll get more specific later (maybe).
Televisionmost TV is utter shite. That being said, i watch these shows regularly: The Daily Show, The Colbert Report, The Simpsons, South Park, King of The Hill, House (lame show, i know, but Hugh Laurie is fucking hilarious), Family Guy, Bullsh*t, Good Eats, Iron Chef America, The Bill Moyers Journal, The Office, Scrubs, Pushing Daisies, Baseball, Baseball, and more Baseball (mostly Giants and A's), P.T.I., Sportscenter, Baseball Tonight, Newsradio (repeats, of course . . one of the best shows in the history of the medium, in my opinion), The Venture Brothers, Futurama, etc. (i'll add to this list as i think of more)
Booksuh. Well, i'm a pretty big reader, so this, again, is going to be a long list . . Until I have time to do this section justice, I'll just say that Kurt Vonnegut and Douglas Adams are my favorite authors, and my favorite books, aside from their work, are probably The Lord of The Rings (waaaaayyyy better than the movies, which were impressive and quite good nonetheless), The Lorax, anything by Chuck Palahniuk, and The Illuminatus! Trilogy by Robert Anton Wilson and Robert Shea.
Heroesi also spent about 30 minutes in this stupid box detailing a few of my heroes, and it too was a casualty of the great myspace update fuckup of Film List fame. Needless to say, i'm still pretty pissed off about it, and thus will be REwriting my hero list at another time. Fucking unBELIEVEABLE glitch. fuck that. (just as a reminder to myself for later though, i HAD written a LOVELY note here about my musical heroes, my political heroes, my philisophical heroes, my educational heroes, and my sports heroes . . so these are the lines i'll be following when my anger cools)

About me:
about me . . hmm. Well, i'm a bit of an enigma I suppose . . just chock full of duality and hypocrisy. Let me see if i can explain what i mean: I've experienced legitimate and powerful ego-death a number of times and i'm very much attracted to philosophies of interconnectedness and humility (Siddhartha and Lao Tsu, i'm talking to you), yet i'm still quite an egotistical person (albeit an egoist with severe self-confidence and anxiety issues) . . . . I love athletics with all my heart and soul (particularly baseball and football), however, despite my extremely active childhood (and perhaps partially because of it), i'm, sadly, probably the most sedentary person I know . . . . I consider myself a pretty intelligent guy (<< this is me being modest ;) ), and i've been told many times in my life, in various ways and by various respected persons, that I posses above-average smarts, but i'm the first person to admit that i'm also a complete dumbass in pretty much every possible way . . . . i'm completely obsessed with music (listening, playing, researching, analyzing, sharing, discussing, writing), and i'm an admitted music snob (in the best possible way, of course), but, despite my 18 plus years of musical experience, the stuff I write is pretty weak, so much so that I have a hard time playing it for people (when i figure out how to post my own recordings i'll throw a tune on here and you guys can see what I mean) . . . . as far as i know, i'm the most pessimistic optimist in the world . . . . blah, blah blah, yackety shmakety. This is just the tip of the bloody iceberg folks : to be continued : . . . Oh, and I'm a staunch Pacifist and a proud Northern California Liberal (although, also proudly, NOT a Democrat), so suck on them eggs conservative america. You're not welcome here. This here space is mine!

Who I'd like to meet:
In no particular order: Dave Matthews - my musical hero . . . Fonzie, Carter, Leroi, and Boyd - the other uber-talented and badass members of the DMB. Maybe this year is the year i'll finally get to say whatsup to these fine gentlemen that i admire so. . . . Steve Lillywhite - just like any other big Dave Matthews Band fan, i'd kill to be able to sit down with this guy for a few hours and find out what the fuck really happened in Charlottesville circa 1999-2000. I mean, seriously, WHAT THE FUCK HAPPENED STEVE?!? . . . Penn and/or Teller - absurdly funny, honest, and smart; i'd sell my kidneys to work for these guys . . . Barry Llamar Bonds - the greatest baseball player i've ever been privileged enough to see play (and i've seen some serious ballplayers in action), the greatest Giant since Willie Mays (and that's REALLY sayin' something), and maybe the greatest hitter of all-time (if you're only rivaled by the likes of Ruth, Cobb, Williams, Dimaggio, Mantle, Mays, and A-Rod, then you know you're doing something right) . . . Will Clark - "The Nuschler", "The Natural", one of the best swings i've ever seen, Mr Clutch, and my childhood hero (other than Joe Montana, whom i've already met . . cool guy btw) . . . Michael Jordan - I don't even like the NBA, but DAMN Jordan was awesome. Who wouldn't want to meet Michael Jordan? . . . Tom Petty - love this guy and his music . . if you have a chance, pick up "Conversations With Tom Petty" at your local library or bookseller, it's a great (an reeaaaaly quick) read . . . Paul Simon - it would truly be a dream-come-true to meet paul simon . . . Paul McCartney - well duh . . . Ringo Starr - who wouldn't want to party with Ringo? oh the stories he could tell . . . John Mayer - Seriously talented dude; i want him to teach me what i'm doing wrong on the fucking guitar . . . Quentin Tarantino - again, uh duh . . . Kevin Smith - same reason . . . The Love of my Life - whomever and whereever she may be . . . Any Decently Attractive Woman Who Shows the Slightest Interest In Me And Who Isn't Completely Out Of Her Mind - ;) . . . [these are off the top of my head . . more to be added later]
