As you can tell from our music we are mostly influenced by televisual comedy - you know the stuff, alan partridge, curb your enthusiasm, extras, family guy.
Musically we can be found lost in the tunes of everyone from American Football, Braid and Beck to whatever electronica Chris is presently immersed in.
Kevin likes things like Red House Painters and Modest Mouse but being in Iceland now he is more in tune with the soothing sounds of the slaying of a Minka whale.
We are new to this myspace nonsence and rather than hold the camer up above my head and take a photo i thought i would record a song i have been working on. well when i say working on i mean that i have played a couple of times and then left be - so here it is so that i can remember the words because i make them up as i go with things like this.
"the slowest band in the world" - "Its not all Slowcore, it should be said - but even tracks like "Cargo Bay" are driven along by xylophone

yessa de paso were formed in the autumn of the year 2000 and comprise of brothers stuart and kevin and their childhood friend chris - although a number of musicians have helped out with various instruments throughout the years.
the music can be deceptively morbid, but the band themselves are happy go lucky characters - just one of the many contradictions that you will find with yessa de paso when you scratch past the surface layer of polite shyness.
the name yessa de paso is loosely translated as 'passage of light'.
the music has a 'less is more' feel and has been described as 'music for the mournfully retrospective'.
SHOWS
the band have played numerous gigs in the UK alongside the likes of The Zephyrs, Stupid Acting Smart, March Of Dimes, Camera Obscura and The Boy Cartographer.
venues in which the band have plied their trade have ranged from the small (drouthy neebors, Dundee) to the medium (13th note club - now the barfly, Glasgow) to the large (T in the Park, Kinross).
RELEASES
the band have featured on a few compilations throughout the years but have not yet released a record in their own name.
this is set to change however as recording is about to commence on the release of their first ep - and Lp which are as yet untitled.
recording is scheduled for autumn 06

chris plays in other bands such as the aforest ,esperi and cavanich.

it is a small independent CD + DVD manufacturing company.
Gillies Audio only advertise in independent fanzines meaning ad money goes back into the underground scene in the UK.
Please show your support by having your bands cd's - promo's and dvd's made through the company - and help keep music away from the corporations.
