| | Sounds Like | If The Pixies had a baby with Talking Heads and this baby was abandoned on Ian MacKaye's doorstep and raised by Fugazi and abused by The Dismemberment Plan, it'd probably turn out like Yes We Can! Oh, and when James forgets the lyrics, he sounds like David Byrne. | | Record Label | Shark Repellent | | Type of Label | Indie |

| About Yes We Can! |
"The most exciting and bracing band you'll ever hear...from Cannon School...maybe."
-JAMES' SELF-SERVING YET HUMOROUSLY SELF-DEPRICATING EGO
"...smart..."
-ELLEN WALKINGTON, Cannon student
"Ryan Tillis is incredible....(in bed)"
-TED KEENAN,Total scenester
Yes We Can! (the exclamation point is part of the name) describe themselves on their MySpace in the third person because they pretend that they're famous. The band started when the eccentric and chubby James Spencer and the fuzzy, scenesterish Ted Keenan performed the self-written "Homesick (The Eskimo Song)" at the Cannon School Symposium in the fall of 2005 alongside reluctant members of the popular Cannon band Handsome Head for whom James used to play guitar and write crummy songs. Hal May saw the performance and decided to join James and Ted after the show. One day, Ryan Tillis wanted to play guitar for the band. James said, "Ok." Soon after, Eric Stine was asked to play drums.
Yes We Can! just played their first show, bringing needles to Cannon School's pink balloons for the Amnesty International Save the Children show, opening for Handsome Head and Wideload McKenna. Unfortunately, Hal could not make the three-song set, so they had to play without him. To compensate, James tackled CASIO details and flubbed a few lyrics in the process. They plan to practice more for their next show, which may be awhile from now.

Over the Summer of 2006, Eric went to college and had to leave the band. He is dearly missed and James, Ryan, and Ted have been left looking around for a drummer. In addition, Hal gradually stopped having anything to do with the band so that he could pursue a career in landscaping. We wish him luck.
