Larry Saklad - singer/songwriter, keyboards, guitars, vocals, actor, producer-engineer, graphic design, and Bartholomew wearing many hats
Influences
everybody from the '60s till the present, my parents always had classical playing on the radio but I couldn't appreciate every Saturday- Opera from the Met-LOL
So I would hide in my room and listen to the Who - "Tommy" endlessly and Niel Young, CSN and Beatles, Stones, Moody Blues, Pink Floyd. I loved Amboy Dukes- Ted Nugent "Journey to the Center of the Mind" (won in a dance contest) and I found Iron Butterfly in a discount rack at Woolworth's 6 months before anyone heard of InaGadaDavida! Yeh- Old Head, but also the softer folk/ acoustic- Simon & Garfunkle, Dylan, James Taylor, Cat Stevens and Donovan. Oh, and I can't leave out Jim Morrison- The Doors, a keyboard player's dream jam band- "When The Music's Over"... I love everyone, gimme Philly soul, R&B and funk, punk, fusion and folk rock... hard, fast, slow and soft - sound like love?

dude your music sounds like lennon very cool
Described as both urgent and accessible, Yet2B's Larry Saklad merges elements of timeless acoustic rock, painting landscapes of heartfelt observations and questions, with brit-pop sensibility and smoky folk-blues, as uniquely fresh as it is uncannily familiar. One moment- brash, angular and edgy, the next- surveying ancient ruins in subdued melancholy, he infuses all our dreams of a better life with hope and faith in possibility...
engaging.
What do you go through surviving the biggest breakup, loss, pull-the-rug-out-from-under you catastrophe? How do you drag yourself out of the gutter, dust yourself off and, again and again, as many times as it takes, finally look up to the future...
...the Yet2B?
These heart-on-his-sleeve tales on this release by Philadelphia's own Larry Saklad weave a detailed picture full of contrasts, the stark realities, seeming polar opposites. He sneers, he croons, he growls, curses, and finally manages to find inspiration. And not just his voice, his guitars weep, rise, plead, fall off a cliff, clatter and pulse. His piano could be found in an old smoky saloon summoning the blues one second and John Lennon's Imagine the next, all with percussive thunder of bass and drums. But gradually, all the discord reaches a climax, then a surrender to come what may, and ultimately redemption.
With titles including No, Tangled and Caught, Forgiveness, Pretendin' It's Alright, Fill My Sails, Receptivity and of course, Yet2B closing, Larry takes us on a journey that no human being is immune to, touches our deepest private fears, and then transforms our stormy nightmare into a new sunrise of refreshed dreams and light.
If this is the first time hearing his name it surely won't be the last.

Following his 2006 debut release, Yet2B, Larry Saklad has been performing regionally in assorted venues and showcases, both in support of those songs and new writing. This year brings us another collection of fresh recordings, all relating to finding peace in a decidedly unpeaceful place, thus the name- MasterPeace.
As accomplished, both on piano and guitar, Larry’s songs reflect an interplay of each instrument weaving counterpoint against the other. His songwriting source of inspiration alternately hi-lights one, yet this focus shifts throughout the collection and within each song.
His singing also has shifted, earlier known for his plaintive raw passion, he pushes it with gentler intensity, and we find the occasional harmony refreshing. "Oh Philadelphia" articulates dynamic contrast vocally, along with "My Manns-n-me", while "Lately Girl" woos us in baritone.
Contrasts abound, with plenty of keyboard textures and electric/ acoustic guitars and drums, all providing support for an ever-changing pallet of song genre. From full-on rock anthems to acoustic ballads and funky-folk pop, Saklad crafts thoughtful and catchy insight on our world, in the light of redefining what is reality/ illusion, as in "What If". Ultimately, truth lies within our relationship with each other, the subject well presented in these songs. And he doesn’t avoid God and holiness as relates to the mindset of peace.
Some may say,"Peace sounds kind of boring," but experiencing Larry Saklad’s art is anything but...
BIO '07 *** Yet2B is the original song project of Larry Saklad, a former member of Alan Mann & the Free Arts Band and David Rowan & Exisdance - keyboards: both bands received widespread airplay and acclaim with live broadcasts. He began playing piano at age 6 and performed Carnegie Hall at 10. By 13 Larry was hooked on songwriting and jamming in Philly local rock bands to the Doors, the Who, Cream, Beatles and Stones, CSNY and Iron Butterfly. Learning guitar as second instrument inspired a greater command of original songwriting. By his HS graduation he had 2 songs aired on radio. In 1992 with the help of Tom Basmajian he recorded Alan Mann's "Christmas on the Block" which was played on WMMR by Cyndy Drue for Street Beat 2 years. He has also worked with Robert Hazard and Essra Mohawk but now is devoted to Yet2B and his unique talent as singer/songwriter. Recording round the clock this past year with 35 finished tracks, Lar is performing solo live in support of his Oct '06 release as he assembles and rehearses a new band. and is currently recording at Barn House Studios w/ David Rowan and Doug Grigsby. He first premiered the work in progress at the World Café Live on April 16, '05 for the 2nd Annual Alan Mann Tribute to great reception, and is receiving airplay on WXPN Philly Local, WQHS U Penn, RadioVolta.org and WSTW Hometown Heroes. He's been performing regularly since April '06 at LOVE PARK, PhilaFunk Live, WCL, Fergies, The Khyber, The Fire, TriTone, North Star, Doc Watson's, The Rotunda, Lickety Split, Raven Lounge, The Dive, 5th St. Coffee, John & Peter's, Club 218, Abilene's, Azure, Milkboy Coffee, Deuce Lounge, Indie Music Conf, Green Line Cafes, more...
Look for this truly talented artist to emerge this year.
