In the summer of 2002, old school hip hop legends DJ Dizzy Trizzy and Mista Mic joined forces for a new experimental music project. The two had yet to be familiarized with much of the latest in music technology, so they sought to create a new album documenting their first endevours in this area. Top Ten Reasons to Sell Your Stuff was the result. While the album featured old school hip hop constructed using new methods, the material on the album gave quite the opposite idea: "TTRTSYS was really a concept album about how materialism is killing creativity," said Trizzy. "Look around current hip hop culture. We were using the latest technology to produce the album, but it was actually about letting go of what's unnecessary in today's materialistic world."
Going instrumental was a new direction for the duo as well. "We stopped and asked ourselves, 'what isn't being done in modern hip hop music?' Our answer was 'instrumentation,'" said Mic. "So this album isn't really about particular songs. It's about the mood that you get when you hear the album as a whole."
After a five-year break, the duo plans to record new tracks in late 2007.
