About Your Favorite Enemies Canada {NEW_BLOG_&_PICS}
When Alex Foster (vocals), Jeff Beaulieu (guitar), Sef (guitar), Ben Lemelin (bass), Miss Isabel (vocals and keys) and Charles Moose Allicy (drums) got together to form Your Favorite Enemies in 2006, they decided to manage every single aspect of the band's career based on their community values and their "do it yourself" attitude. Already known for their commitment towards human rights, Foster being a fervent spokesperson for Amnesty International and a passionate youth speaker, Your Favorite Enemies' distinctive blend of dirty and polished types of melodic textures and their introspective and empowering lyrics instantaneously attracted musical fanatics from all over the world, who organically and spontaneously turned their passion for the band into an incredible multitude of street teams, communities, fan sites and forums emerging in every major city on the planet.
Therefore, inspired by such astounding support and inundated by an impressive number of requests to buy Your Favorite Enemies’ nowhere-to-be-found music, the 6 musicians decided to create the label Hopeful Tragedy Records in April 2007 in order to offer the self-produced 5-song EP and fan-exclusive "And If I Was To Die In the Morning… Would I Still Be Sleeping With You"; released on June 1st, for only $10 worldwide, shipping included. However, facing a strong reluctance and a major lack of support from the band's former advisers, who doubted that any potential success would come out of such a daring operation, the musicians kept their vision of honoring their fans' loyalty with a ridiculously low and worldly-standardized cost for anyone wishing to purchase their EP, from Montreal to Tokyo.
Since many people were expecting a monumental flop and a damaging move for the band's career, the decision to create a record label in order to sell their EP via their own online store turned out to be the determinant turning point for Your Favorite Enemies. The Montreal musicians ended 2007 with more than 30 thousand copies sold of their EP, a first European promotional headlining tour, unbelievable coverage by major international media, the creation of Hopeful Tragedy Records' multimedia branch dedicated to the development of new web initiatives and the production of a weekly podcast show on "YFE-TV"; different elements turning Your Favorite Enemies into one of the most exciting new "Do It Yourself" bands to emerge from the non-traditional music model.
Needless to say that, if 2007 was a good indication of what the future had in store for Your Favorite Enemies, the following year turned out to be an undoubtedly interesting one for the 6 musicians from Montreal, who have been named as one of the top 5 bands to watch out for in 2008 by the Billboard Magazine; a quote which is hard to deny after the incredible success they had in 2008. Success which included being the first band ever to internationally broadcast a real-time live concert on their MySpace page, obtaining extraordinary success for their first Japanese tour, selling more than 60 thousand copies of their second album “Love Is A Promise Whispering Goodbye”, released in June 2008 on the band’s label, Hopeful Tragedy Records, and becoming the first band ever to write songs for the legendary video game franchise Final Fantasy.
Greatly empowered by the amazing support of their faithful fans, Your Favorite Enemies is already in the studio working on new songs for what they described as “a fantastic imaginary voyage” for their third album to be released worldwide in 2009.

well actuall we kinda broke up on canada day,so yea kinda sucks but im doing well, movig on and such lol, and well no vacation for me anymor haha but oh well imma plan on something eventually ahah

Right now for the summer my plans are working working and working. But when i'm off, i'll spend time with my family, working on my promo for the band and have a lot of fun. Give me some news when you can ;)
Hey Amy! I am definitely ready for the weekend! It's been a long and boring week. My plans fell through for Thursday, so I've been sitting around enjoying the sun and well... doing nothing. ): HAHA, Ryan Malcolm talent? No. I think it was more of the idea that he won and was from Kingston. 'Cause looking back, I just don't see him being good. But, I guess other people do, some where? He's completely changed. haha, he was playing at Confederation Basin one summer and I had no idea who he was. UM, this weekend the Buskers are in town, so I might go and watch some of their performances. That's about it, I think. How about you? I will definitely check out the blog post, haha. Hmm well Monday I am going to a movie/art show..I think, searching for
a job, but I've applied for some jobs recently. On Thursday I went to a
workshop for resumes/interviews, it was very good, I even won a
certificate for a free Slurpee, actually 2. I got a new hat :p excited
for the new Harry Potter movie to come out. Yeah I'm trying to keep
myself busy so I'm not bored.
Hmm yeah I am planning to move sometime soon, but I'm not going to move
out soon..lol I'm still going to stay in Winnipeg, boo..Folk Fest was
awesome, tons of music, it is interesting because you'd never hear that
much music from such a wide range of artists, on an ordinary day in
that kind of situation. There was tons of people, lots of things for
sale like handmade crafts and stuff it was cool, I bought a bracelet
with this weird writing on it almost looks like Hiroglyphics, it was
$15, not too bad considering what else that was there. The reason why I
got the chance to attend this was because I'm part of a youth group and
the Folk Fest committee invited the youth group to be a guest for day,
lunch & dinner provided and we also got some handbooks and bags.
There was a lot there. For my first time going it was pretty good. A lot of walking and it rained heavily the night before so there was a lot of water.
The whole thing runs from July 8th-12th and you could even camp nearby.
Oh did I say I was going to volunteer at the festival? I didn't
though..lol
Oh yeah I remember you telling me that you went to the Jazz Festival,
that's cool, glad you had a good time. Okay i'll check him out sometime.
I've read the blog, it's great, Canada is a great country to live in! I
didn't do that much for Canada Day though but I did wear a t-shirt that

hello Amy !! im fine :) thanks for my work :) and yes i know that im in the right family to be weird, dont worry, i ever understand that ! But, to be weird isnt a bad thing :) Im not worry about all the things the boys and girls said about me..i know its all positive things (i hope so)..its just because we never know what they say but we know that they talk about us..its just the curiosity XD Yeah im passionate about Art..but i dont really like go on museum to see a lot of stuff..only the artist il ike..i prefer do my things. Since i have 13 years old, i really like tattoo and i wanted to have one..but my mother dont like that..so i waited at my 18 to have my first..and ..what i like in that..i think is the fact that i really like draw..and to be able to draw on a person..and have our art on somebody..its so..wow..the trust of this person have into me..to work with some person who like what you do, what you like..its pleasant ! For me, i just went to see one artist i like, and i ased him if i can learn of him..and he said yes so i dont need to pay anything to learn..i dont have to learn that in school ;) But yes school exist here..but i dont know where.. question : ok what is the beaver dance XD what is that ahahahah its weird no ? take care lol Luv Joz
everything is goin good, yea im gettin my rest usually, only got 6 hours of sleep last nite so im kinda tired today, gotta get back to work really soon just on my break rite now lol i know i move alot, and actually im gunna be movin to niagara falls with her once i get the courses done for the trade i want to get into and find a contractor in niagara falls that will hire me, im planning on getting into the sprinkler fitters and fire prevention intaller trade, just gotta take grade 11 and 12 physics, drafting and industrial arts, so i prolly wont be moving for a few months now i was about to lose my job cause i told my boss i was moving soon but he said i could have my job back if im planning to stay for now, which i am so all is well what's new with u? take it easy
I'm having an ok week even though some people are making me feel like I'm worth nothing ... As for the get togethers, I don't even talk to half of the yfe people so it would be hard to organize something. By the world, I mean the society in which you live in. What would you change?

hey amy, i've been doing well.. :) yup i do miss west ed mall!! i will visit as soon as possible but i want to visit my other relatives at vancouver... i want to work for pixar for animation, even tho it's hard it's really fun... and i've been enjoying making 3-D animations lol... :P i surely miss canada day! and the small flags! lol.. :) my friend got a hundred of those last time lol... :P how about when i visit, let's meet up and have a joy ride! let's go where ever! lol... :P it'll be fun! how i envy you having summer right now.. here's raining!!! anyway, i'll check your blog once it's posted!!! i hope you're having fun!! :D

Hay Amy, how art though, I'm doing good, yeah, I got a power hose, it's a blast, I have a great time with it, that's all that's really happening over here, I'm back on my clint eastwood buzz, watched some of the good dirty harry films, do you feel lucky, I always found non irish people find it hard to understand my accient, it dosn't bother me now, I'm sure once your friend gets use to the accient, there's nothing going on over here, it's too soon for planning the weekend, just driving people mad, here and on skype, I hope your well, I might buy a power hose, would be handy, take care, and hope tpo hear from you soon, Tom.
