About me:

Who We Are:

Youth For Understanding (YFU) is one of the world's oldest, largest, and most respected international exchange organizations. YFU USA is a non-profit educational organization which offers opportunities for young people to study in another country, in addition to offering opportunities for families to host international high school students. If you are a teenager who wants to study in another country or a family member who wants to internationalize your household, we would love to speak with you!

Change Your Life, Change Your World. The Learning Adventure of a Lifetime

Young people ages 15 to 18 around the world can spend a summer, semester or year with a host family in another culture, thereby preparing them for their responsibilities and challenges in a changing, interdependent global community. We have over 300 scholarships available! If you are interested in learning about the amazing programs we offer, click here.

Hear what students have to say about their YFU experiences:

Share Your Home, Change the World.

Hosting an international exchange student can be an enriching experience for the entire family. By opening your home and heart to a student from overseas, your family will gain a new global perspective, many memories, and - quite possibly - a new family member! Imagine the possibilities! You do not need to have a teenager in your family to take advantage of this opportunity. Find out more about this exciting opportunity by clicking here.

I spent a year in Denmark with yfu in 2003-2004. It changed my life. Yfu is an excellent program and I am glad I chose to go with them. I had support all throughout the year and I was able to meet people and become friends with them from all over the world. Go yfu!
