Throughout most of my life, I held interest in Alternative Healing/Medicine and the Eastern culture.
Some of the Alternative Healing Modalities that I have learned include: Trager Therapy, Relaxation Techniques, Biofeedback, Stress Management; Healing Touch, and creative/visual imagery techniques.
Independent studies in various forms of Energy Healing; Meditations; Shiatsu; Acupressure; Qigong; and Yoga. Over the years this has been narrowed down to: Qigong (Nei Gong & Wai Gong), Yoga, and Meditation.
Presently, (as of April 2008) enrolled in Medical Qigong Healer and Daoist Priest Training at the Qigong & Daoist Training Center (QDTC). -- The American Dragon Gate Lineage (ADGL) founded by Michael Rinaldini (Li Chang Dao). Michael is a practitioner of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), a Qigong Teacher, and a 22nd generation (Longmen) Dragon Gate Daoist priest. The ADGL is inspired by the teachings of Chinese qigong and Daoist Master Wan Su Jian from Beijing, and from Daoist Priest Ji Zhi Tong of White Cloud Temple, Beijing. Historically, the ADGL is linked to the Quanzhen (Complete Perfection).

Daoism comes from the word "Tao" (the Way). Tao (or "Dao") is the ancient Chinese name for the ordering principle that makes cosmic harmony possible. Daoism reveres naturalness,"wu wei," and inwardness.

T'ai chi and the medical practice of Qigong are modern manifestations of Daoism.
Qigong (pronounced chi kung) is a combination of two ideas: "Qi" means air, breath of life, or vital energy of the body, and "gong" means the skill of working with, or cultivating, self-discipline and achievement.
The art of Qigong consists primarily of meditation, relaxation, physical movement, mind-body integration, and breathing exercises. Practitioners of Qigong develop an awareness of qi in their body and use their mind to guide the Qi. When the practitioners achieve a sufficient skill level, they can direct or emit external Qi for the purpose of healing others.
