Ar ol i’r ffans glywed blas o’r albwm newydd gyda’r trac Canibals a Rhyw mae Copa’n falch cael cyflwyno Hud a Llefrith, albwm newydd dyfeisgar a thywyll yr anghydffurfiwr mr huw (Huw Owen). Bydd lansiad swyddogol yr albwm yng Nghlwb
Ifor Bach Caerdydd ar Fawrth 28ain ac Anglesey Arms Caernarfon ar Ebrill 3ydd.
Wedi’i gynhyrchu a’i recordio ar beiriant 8 trac gan mr huw yn “nhywyllwch iard esgyrn nant peris” ac “ystafell gwaed a rhyw Caernarfon”, mae Hud a Llefrith yn cydweddu storiau tywyll dros melodiau bywiog a hapus. Mae’r albwm yn ddilyniant arbennig i’r Lle Llond Hwrs a Lladron clodwiw a rhyddhawyd yn 2007.
Unwaith eto mae mr huw yn trin materion pob dydd ac yn creu delweddau cryf am farwoldeb, sef prif thema’r albwm hwn. Er hyn, cred Huw Owen mae albwm positif ydyw, dywedodd, “Er fod marwoldeb yn chwarae rhan fawr ar yr albwm dwi'n cysidro Hud a Llefrith i fod yn albwm bositif. Dwi wastad wedi bod yn un am ysgrifennu am bethau tywyll. Mae'r ymenydd a’r dychymig yn crwydro mewn i lefydd na ddylia nhw weithiau, neu i lefydd dylia nhw!”
Mae mr huw yn herio genre ac yn gwthio ffiniau gan cyfuno a threfnu seiniau’n effeithiol gyda chryn ddychymyg a mynegiant cerddorol crefftus. Mae’n cyflwyno curiadau electronig, noeth ac weithiau hypnotig ond geiriau, storiau a delweddau mr huw a ddaw a’i dalent i’r amlwg.
Dywedodd y cyflwynydd BBC Radio 1, Bethan Elfyn, “Mae Mr Huw yn dipyn o gymeriad - hiwmor sych a cerddoror profiadol tu hwnt heb son am ei farddoni a'r defnydd creiadigol or geiriau hollol nuts. Mr Huw di'r peth agosaf sy gynnon ni yng Nghymru ir anti-folk scene, caneuon syml ar y golwg gyntaf ond sy'n cuddio tywyllwch mawr tu ol ir hiwmor - ydi mae'n codi ofn arnai chydig bach ac wedyn fyddain chwerthin yn nerfus - dyna'r perthynas sy gen i a Mr Huw!”

ALBUM: Hud a Llefrith
An album that wanders into mr huw’s dark side
After fans recieved a taste of the new album with Canibals a Rhyw (Cannibals and Sex) Copa is proud to present Hud a Llefrith, the new ingenious and dark album by the nonconformist mr huw (Huw Owen). The official launch will be held in Clwb Ifor Bach Cardiff on March 28th and in Caernarfon’s Anglesey Arms on April 3rd.
Produced and recorded on his 8 track by mr huw in “the darkness of Nant Peris’ bone yard” and “Caernarfon’s blood and sex room”, Hud a Llefrith blends dark stories with lively and happy melodies. It’s an excellent follow up to the commendable debut Lle Llond Hwrs a Lladron released in 2007.
Once again mr huw deals with every day issues and creates strong images about morality, the main theme of the album. Despite this, Huw Owen believes that it’s a positive album, he said, “Even though morality plays a big part, I consider Hud a Llefrith to be a positive album. I always write about dark things. My brain and imagination sometimes wander to where they shouldn’t go, or to places they should!”
mr huw challenges genre and boundaries; he combines and arranges his music effectively and does so with great imagination and skilled musical expression. He presents bare electronic beats, sometimes hypnotic, but it is mr.huw’s lyrical and imagery skills that make him a genius.
Bethan Elfyn, the BBC Radio 1 presenter, said,“mr huw is a real character – dry humour and a very experienced musician along with his versification and his creative use of mad words. mr huw is the closest thing to an anti-folk scence we have in Wales, simple songs on first inspection but who hides the immense darkness behind the humour – yes he scares me a little and then I’ll laugh nervously – that’s the relationship I have with mr huw.”

hey u! how ya been? hope things are going good. I havent been able to make it over to the hotel to stop in for a minute... clints been working in town again so im back on dinner duty. lol we are trying to get a mailing list made for my mom to send the invitations out so that's yay. its going to be june 6th at 11a we're going to have some food a bit before. kind of a celebration thang, ya know? quitting mah job with that lameass of a boss jaime. gah, i aint gonna miss her at all! i still cant believe that that survey thing that britt showed me is actually working - n dat we're gettin paid; im so luvin it too. givin mah opinion on stuff i do - pshhh ... so easy. i wonder if we'll ever hit da cash that that website said we would. i dunno, but with my last check being $126, i dont even care. i only pulled in like 200 a week and my crapass job anyway, so this is perfect. you should do it, i'm tellin yah. i guess you'll have to type the link into internet explorer or whatever, but here it is:
