Ynis Vitrin was created in 1999 by Rondinel de Oliveira (guitars), Antonio Socol (keyboards), and Nelcidor Dall'Agnol (drums) along with another guitarist and a bass player. They rehearsed without a definitive name until "Angel’s Garden" was chosen. The band worked on their own songs, originally influenced by 80's hard rock. But as they wrote, they naturally started to compose heavier songs. As a result, in early 2000, the guitarist and bassist left the group being replaced by two new members, Benhur Vieira Lima (bass and vocals) and Jocemar Maciel (guitars) -- the line-up that remains the same today.
Under a new band name "Episode", their first demo-CD was recorded with only two songs: "Regret" and "Crossfire" which was re-recorded later and appears on the band's 2005 CD, A Dark Land. While recording this CD, the band changed its name once again -- to the current and definitive: Ynis Vitrin.
A Dark Land is composed of 11 tracks and has been called "a masterpiece" by reviewers; "produced with sensibility, for those who like heaviness and innovation.". Ynis Vitrin is trade marked by a heavy style, influenced by bands like: Blind Guardian, Dream Theater, Symphony X, Iron Maiden, and Rush, among others. A Dark Land from Ynis Vitrin was chosen by NovoMetal website as The Best Demo in 2005. The Ynis Vitrin keyboardist, Antonio Soccol, also received the same honor in this web site's listing of the best of 2005.
In 2006, Ynis Vitrin entered the sickidiots.com Tshirts and Revolver Magazine Metal Band Contest which was heavily promoted by the great American Heavy Metal Magazine, Revolver. Competing against bands from all around the world, Ynis Vitrin was voted the Grand Prize Winner by the contest's celebrity judges.
Ynis Vitrin is currently in the studio composing and recording pre-mix for their new CD which will be recorded in the Spring of 2007 both in their own studio and with producer/musician Earth at Nitro Sound Solutions.

Doom will never die, DOOMRAISER too! As one door closes, another opens. Valerio has decided to leave the band; he wants to concentrate more on his other projects. We all wish Valerio the best of luck with his new vocation. He was, and remains, a formidable guitarist and was an integral part of DOOMRAISER. However, it is with great pleasure that DOOMRAISER announce that Valerio’s replacement is to be none other than our good friend and brother, the fearsomely talented musician Willer. He played bass with evil blacksters Grimness and he’s involved in Black Land, an awesome and obscure heavy psychedelic band from Rome. Practices have been going very well, and Willer is already adding a new, acid and exciting dimension to the band as a whole. His first gig will be at Sinister Noise Club in Rome on the 21th November: a special and drunken night celebrating the birthday of one of the most important Italian underground rock scene club! Stay tuned… and slower, harder, drunker!
