 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
I was born in 1983, and grew up in a captivating environment full of WW2 stories, travels to Eastern Europe, where my family’s roots are, music and 90’s advertising, where both my parents worked. My father slipped a pencil into my hand when I was a kid and I never really dropped it.
That’s how I really started to express myself.
Later, I discovered directors like Wim Wenders, Elia Kazan, Terrence Mallick, Michel Gondry or Gus Van Sant, painters like John Singer Sargent, Edward Hopper, Mark Rothko, photographers like Stephen Shore, Joel Sternfeld. They definitely influenced my eye and my sensibility.
I started learning illustration and animation at Emile Cohl School, Lyon, and screen-printing techniques at Swindon College, London. After college in 2004, I started illustrating in several magazines and children's books, in France and the USA. At the same time, I joined the Wanda Productions directors team and started to direct my first 3D-animated TV ads and music videos, before putting my eye to the camera for my first live shoots.
Today, I live between Paris and New York, mainly working as a film director in media such as video, 8 to 35mm film, 2D and 3D animation, Stop Motion, photography, illustration, painting, screen printing, sculpture, collage, knitting, holograms, and more… I’m a very curious person, constantly looking for avenues of expression that combine those different mediums.
Call me a do-it-yourselfer.
All these techniques, in principle very different, are really linked together for me, as they are all grounded in my will to materialize my emotions, regardless of the means.
I could say my creations are related to subjects such as childhood, nostalgia, sexuality, fashion, symbolism, and of course that patchwork, that collision between different worlds and techniques, which is what I’m made from, I guess.
My work has always been very related to music too, first of all because I grew up learning to play instruments, but also because my images are mainly inspired by songs and melodies that move me. This is why collaborating with other artists such as musicians is for me the most fulfilling way of working.
