The STATIC RAIN FANS space	Mar 18 2009 12:09 AM Static Rain is a 2 piece band from the beautiful Yorkshire town of Keighley. Band members Tony Garthwaite and Jacob Barlow formed the band in 2008, driven by a joint passion for both electronic music and retro synths. The music they produce can be described as electronic pop with catchy choruses and memorable riffs that are prominent in all of their songs, making them popular with a very wide audience. Following their initial success on MySpace, Static Rain continues to build a solid fan base and a strong reputation as a live act. Katie and the Questions	Jun 30 2008 7:03 PM Hi You are invited to Katie & the Questions first gig at the Junction Leeman Road, York on the 9th July. Only £4 on the door. Katie & The Questions were formed out the prefabs of North Yorkshire in June 2008, when Katie met guitar playing keyboardist ‘E’ after he advertised for someone to play ‘shove halfpenny’ with. They clicked over their love of guitar based music and decided to form a band. Katie and the band play a pulsating brand of powerpop, new wave punkpop check them out at their myspace site

YAFA	Jun 3 2008 6:44 AM Vegan camp 2008 comes to Yorkshire http://www. veggies. org. uk/vegancamp/ SEE ABOVE LINK FOR FULL DETAILS Vegan Camp 2008 Yorkshire Dales National Park Saturday August 2nd to Saturday August 16th All welcome any period of stay The 28th Vegan Camp this year will be situated at Austwick, Settle, North Yorkshire. People stay for periods from day visits to the full two weeks. Most stay at the site itself but some stay at nearby accommodation such as hotels or guesthouses/hostels and visit during the day. We usually have between 60 - 110 people come to stay over the 2 week period. Many of us have been coming for ten years or more. We often have communal meals (sometimes with a talent show), sing songs, camp fires (if allowed) and just general lounge-abouts. We enjoy going on outings to the beach, walks in the countryside, having picnics, and visiting local places of interest. What is consistent is the friendly, helpful and fun atmosphere, which you will find at these camps. We are able to draw on the many talents and enthusiasm of some of those attending to put on events which in the past has included such things as circus skills workshops, first aid lessons, raw and wild food workshops, rock climbing, surfing, orienteering, meditation, talent shows, yoga etc: we would always welcome new skills or offers and suggestions. We have many children attending each year and it is an ideal time for them to meet other vegan children and to see that they are not the odd one out. Children and adults form many friendships at the camp. We are a diverse group with ages from babies up to those in their 70’s, singles, couples and families. Some people come every year and some come when we are in their area.
