..

FOLLOW: the website link for freely downloadable Yorkshire Song sung by fine traditional singers. www.yorkshirefolksong.net THE STORY: Yorkshire Garland..How it all started..Parts 1 and 2 are now on the BLOG..This is Part 3 : ARCHIVING: With the successful completion of Phase 1, the website was completely up and running. Part of our remit for the Heritage Lottery was to find an established and respected institution to archive all our work in hard copy--of which there was a great deal after two years of hard slog, preparation and lengthy meetings. Fortunately the Borthwick Institute for Archives, now at the University of York, was happy to take this on. An extra bonus and a great honour was the recognition in the shape of an offer of internet archiving by the UK Web Archiving Consortium steered by the British Library jointly with other important archiving bodies around the UK. YORKSHIRE GARLAND, my dearest:
I heartily welcome your musical group to My Space site.
With great emotion, tenderness, interest and attention I've been hearing out your old traditional songs. Since it would be quite hard a task having to opt for just one song as my best-loved, please allow me to select your "The bunny Hawthorn", a marvelous country voice and a so lovely song. How about including "Barbara Allen" to your repertoire? My felicitations on this so special and referential musical work you've been showing to the world.
I sincerely hope you can also listen to my simple provincial music,("Galo cantou", "Mariazinha", and mostly "Dia de Folia") my roots and send me any desirable comments. Please, get in touch and accept a fraternal musical embrace from your ardent admirer, living down here in Minas Gerais, the land of freedom, country music and heart of Brazil,

Taquinho Noronha
