Yes, we are womyn ball players: no we do not wear skirts when we play. We spit sunflower seeds. We enjoy running to far places (led by stacey: not gen), occasionally doing random sets of kareoke stepped jogs and cross overs (along some form of a flat surface). We enjoy wearing Black and Red with the occasional splashes of white. Black sox, mouth guards and batting gloves are our opinion of stylish: We will live in our track suits and York hats for the winter. We will go EASY on our Rookies. We have the best opening cheer in the game. We put ice in zip lock bags and cling wrap ourselves repeatedly. We're focused. We're strong. We're determined....and we look good playing the game. So bring it.
Note: Hair gel in jacket pockets is a convenient way to lock those curls and always be ready to hit on the umps.

The 2007 York University Lions Fastpitch Team contains a mix of highly talented, dedicated, charismatic ladies from around the country, condensed into one club.
The OIWFA is a 12 team league, in which York University is the original member of. In a season squeezed into a time frame before snowfall in Ontario, the York Lions will play over the next 6 weeks in a full circle of tournaments from the season opener game until playoffs right before November. This site is to keep you as a supporter updated. This site will work for you to take a look into the team and see a dedicated group of girls juggling life as University students and ball players.
With a willingness to take it all home and remembering the fact that, "There is no crying in baseball", the 2006 season will kick off and end with a bang!
