Our forefathers who came before us, alcohol, fun, music.
We are York University's alternative music and rock society. Not exactly a band but Myspace doesn't cater for societies yet. If you would like to join us and get involved we are around in McQ's bar at 8pm on Tuesdays. Just look at the top memebers list below to see what we look like. To get into the society all you need to do is give one of our committee your email and £3. You can then sit back and relax wait for all the fun events to be sent straight to your email inbox and then come out and party!
If you are a band and you want to advertise your show please send us a message with the details and we shall add it to our events. We need to promote our local music scence.
As a society we run various events on and around campus including gigs, coach trips, club nights and bar crawls.
Have any of you been to Ziggys on a Tuesday? If yes then you've probably seen us all hanging around the back bar; that's our usual communal hangout spot. Please come over and say hi.

anyhow chances are it's been run by the current uni students that have never met me! I'm an old git... I remember the days of Timeh, Magz,The dude and steph been el presedent... I actually rembemer a little further back than that as well but shhh!
I'm also a ziggys veteran... been going there as long as danny green.... Because i am in fact the same age as the long haired knarled git! that puts me on 9years broken service to club Z! God i'm old!

Kay - when's the start of next term instead? Anyone have la knowledge? I got time to take off and want to have a crazy ziggys-style session and poss fit in beiginning term social if ur havin one?
You guys suck.. where did it say when xmas social is hmm?!! I'm going to miss lottie in a thong and that is a baaad thing to miss!!! Also I will bitchslap every single one of you for neither making andy's birthday nor our housewaring or halloween apart from limp (excuse = good) pin (was a flid but came down anyway when ho got tickets), claire (the lovely lady did come down)and everynoe else who wasn't lame!!! luv gemsy x
I'm going to be back in York this weekend for the first time since June and want to catch up with loads of people I havn't seen in ages! Does anyone fancy coming to Descent on Friday? I won't be able to stay around until Tuesday for Ziggy's, but hopefully will be able to go sometime soon.
Harken to my words young fringelings, for I have seen the signs. Know that the day of the 20th November is marked. It shall herald the second coming of the Unholy Alliance.
How shall we know them you ask? Their coming shall not be to the music of angels, but to the sounding of guitars. The welcoming host shall be named thusly - Thine Eyes Bleed, Children of Bodom, Lamb of God, In Flames and Slayer.
For those who would brave this coming of evil, solace shall be found in the sanctuary of my abode, where we can imbibe beverages to dull our minds to the coming horror and then rest our weary bodies once the Unholy Alliance is finished with us.
And Lo, those that did possess the strength of will to brave this night did cry out their names to The Dude, thanking him for such bountiful visions, and provided him with the gift of £30 each so he could confirm his vision.
