The Yosemite Sound Series opens the door to a new sonic direction for the people of the central valley. Showcasing the improvising and experimental musicians of northern California the Yosemite series provides a true alternative music experience. The success of the Yosemite Sound Festival propels the Sound Series into it's second year. This years shows are brought to Stockton by the California Outside Music Associates (COMA) and Outsound.org. Come to the Blackwater Cafe on the first Thursday of the month for something completely different.
This site is now the official site for the Yosemite Sound Series. The first Thursday of each month Sonic abnormalities take over the Blackwater Cafe in Stockton, California. We begin our second year of shows on September 6 with piano master Thollem McDonas. Thollem will play a solo set and duet sets with local musicians. Don't miss this show that will kick off Thollem's US fall tour.
Opening night was excellent. Solo sets by Greenlief and Nakatani blew the audience away. Bonus for the show was a duo set they added on. All new people at the show. Two nights let to check this out.
