    Leftenant Reg?'s Interests
GeneralYeah, I'm interested. Stuff interests me. All kinds of stuff too. Loads of stuff. Wrist watches to (w)redheads to lava lamps to Medway rawk to 6Ts/7Ts "muscle car" (or even just regular like but cool ...like w/a set o'simple and uncompromisingly treacherous suicide doors ...

I owned one of these. It's a '70 Mercury Cyclone GT w/a 429 Cobra Jet w/a functional cowl air induction hood scoop. Same color as this stock photo. COOLEST dashboard as all the guages, and it had tons, all were almost the entire length of the dash aimed twords the driver. Impractical, yeah, but cool as crap! Had that car my senior year in high school(75/6), didn't last long, wrecked it in April '77 ...alas and anyway.

...or uber rad like w/Super Bee wings and amphibious capabilities and fins, even 6Ts fins were cool as all hell ...or simply simple clean and monochromatically boxy -maximum chromed through, old skool chrome is SO key ...today's chrome ain't crap- ... in the end though, just sparse coolness and junk) automobiles and most points inbetween. Discuss my interests amongst yrselves then, eh! Go on!
MusicCritically important to Marky's well being, yep!

EVERYTHING flows, dudes!

For starters, yr Leftenant's a hardcore 'n' ardent fan of most anything through a Leslie cabinet

...and...

Y'all can play a gazillion notes per but if ya ain't got tone ...ya ain't got nuthin'! Soul and honesty's pretty important too.

This is pretty honest stuff right here, kids ...Mitch is quite possibly my fave ever guitarist ...he's a LOT of guitar dudes and dudesses fave guitarist ...so... mebbe I know something after all.

Okay. Loads of faves I could bore you with ...can cobble together a MOST boring list of the obvious and the obscure. Alas and lo, I'll spare ya that. I'm biased as all hell, I like what I like and that's what I like ... you like what you like ...cool by me ...I don't dig what you do ... cool by you? Hope so! So. Been through the genre wars of sonic time and space. Always a sucker for a good hook! But! A good initial ear prickin' hook ain't crap if it's follow thru ain't worthy ... hence ... Marky's attention deficit syndrome trips into full gear and I'm off to the NEXT!

So, Marky's been at this music stuff since before the advent of "genre" actually. Since back when it was cool to just be into whatever was good. Played the elitist game and bandwagonesqued for a while as well. You knew the rules ...when Led Zeppelin (or whomever) "SUCKED" due to the fact that The Clash were "the only band that mattered" or whatever paper platform you hoisted yrself up on to ...and... as rule you invariably never admitted to having any roots (good, bad and/or indifferent) whatsoever. Not the *wrong* ones anyway! Now, now if it's good enough to keep me at minimum interested, it's just plain good again. If it sucks, so be it, it sucks, no matter ...NEXT! My criteria not yrs, yeah huh. Somewhat myopic, eh? SO BE IT, key word there ...*my!*

Okay .. NEXT! ...sed that already.

Um.

And.

TOO!

Where was I?

Ummm...

Music ...right ...?

Yr Leftenant is *still* FOREVER hopeful (even though it's not at all very likely!) that the ABYSMAL U.S. Top-40 shall someday shine as a diamond. Kinda' like it did back when he was smitten by all things musical in his formative years back in those swingin' 6Ts.

So.

Been at this for most my life. Heard and seen alot (utterly incredible, abjectly bad and middle of the road plain ol'blasé) and I been told by a now deceased, extremely musically inclined and way missed mate o'yore that I was in possession of "good ears" ...so, trust Ray, I reckon ... I did!

Other minespaces for some lost, forgotten/never found to begin with bands/musicians who never really got the proper nod, especially here ...

The dB's

Died Pretty

Let's Active

I was requested by the band's management to take this one down - Lime Spiders - oh well, so, disregard it.

The Moffs

New Christs

Orange Humble Band

Screaming Tribesmen

Movies

Yeah, I like movies fine! A-ones, B-ones (moreso tan A-ones, those), old ones, new ones, artsy ones, just plain entertaining ones, sub-titled ones, silents, ones what SHOULD be silents ...!!!, flicks not even made yet prolly even. I prefer *acting* flicks, don't fancy a lot of exploding stuff or shoot outs ...unless of course it's noon up on some dusty main street in the wild wild west ...yeah ...you can fill up a movie w/a ton o'whiz-bang CGI crap and computer enhanced car chases and exploding buildings ...galaxies even!!!... and voodoo zombie alien creatures and all that but if there's no solid acting to back that crap up, there's nuthin!

I as well prefer, it seems anyway, ensemble casts as most my latter day faves consist o'ensembles ...go figure.

TelevisionI can live w/out teevee but it's usually a daily thing, alas. And. So.

MXE (Most Extreme Elimination), Cash Cab, Jon and Kate Plus Eight, American Chopper, COPS, Old Skool 5Ts and 6Ts stuff, Pee Wee's Playhouse, This Old House, History Channel stuff, BHGTV stuff, Food Channel stuff, PBS stuff, HBO stuff (Sopranos, Deadwood, Oz, 6FU, etc...), news, weather, traffic....
BooksRead it in books. Lots o'the rawk stuff mostly of late ...surprise, surprise, eh.
HeroesMy Mom and my Dad. John Otway and Wild Willie Barrett ...too!

Gurus ...another ENTIRE catagory completely!

AHOY!

Welcome to myths of EPIC size, similarly and parallel melancholic outbursts, bi-polaric magnificent ramblings, rantings, ravings and/or droolings...

Or...

My life is purple with red flashes!

I'm by far not a people person. But. I'm fairly social, relatively speaking and I'll never embarrass you, not knowingly anyway. Not even when I'm drunk! And. So. If you prove yrself not to be a archetypal jackass. Ya know. If yr nice and relatively intelligent, we'll see...

My Facebook

Marky's Dimeadozen profile where he uploads the most.

Hmmmmm, "about me", I'm not real good at this "about me" crap...

Hate zoos, zoos sadden me. I don't use semicolons ...like ...not alot! I swear far too much for my own good but that don't mean I'm not cuddly too! (May not be gettin' a Heaven('s)ward nod but I KNOW I won't be lonely where I ideedily shall end up!) A carnivore by choice, polite to a fault yet just surly enough to not be anybody's doormat. Right then. I cross at the green, NOT in between. I never wore a baseball cap EVER; 'cept for little league damn near 40 years ago. I never park in disabled spaces. I'll allow ya to step in front of me if yr holding a single or two items at the checkout line. I brush after every meal (at least I try). I hold doors for whomever is behind me goin' thru one AND I'd give my seat up to a lady. In short ...I'm a loser!

Started up a Yahoo group For Mitch/Ledz as well ...as well as for Dom Mariani, The Barracudas and The Neighborhoods. Just felt those lot deserved a well deserved and at the time way overdue web presence that just wasn't there for 'em ...they've given me so much, figured it was the least I could do to give some props back. Also, if you'd be so kind as to check out the other pages I have up here for yet several other more obscure or really for the most part Myspace deprived bands and artistes.

Yeah, so, this *me* stuff just sorta starts to flow, eh... FAR too many *I*s already, they'd prolly in Sweden have me either shot on sight or brought before the ME Crimes Tribunal ...or sumthin', ah well.

But ... I can point to Norway w/my fist!

Right, then ... I can't stand incessive chattiness and hate loudness of any sorts except for amplification of anysorts ...Marshalls and Fender Twins 'r fine (how was it stated w/in "Cities On Flame w/Rock And Roll" ..."Marshall will buoy but Fender control" ...if they say so, depends upon yr preference I suspect) ...valve driven/old skool Orange's impressive, Vox, Music Man and those UmmaGumma'n Hi-Watts as well but ... Matamp ...Marky's YOURS! I own a Fire Glo 330/6 Rickenbacker (dots, no binding, straight up actually) signed by Roger McGuinn -but- twas the unholiest of unholy Rickenbackerists trinities what made me buy the thing ...sed, unholy trinity consisting of Mssrs, Weller, Buck and Easter. And Marty Willson("two Ls, one hyphen, no bullshit")Piper had a little to do w/my choice too. I drive a 2001 Mitsubishi Galant, my first red(ish) and four cylindered automobile and I absolutely love the damned thing. I like a nice upwardly mobile 'n' hoppy beer every now and then but I'm not overly proud or snooty to opt for a Bud either. In a BOTTLE, please! Buy me a Sierra Nevada Pale Ale and I'll be yr best friend ...for the evening anyway. For the record, been on a Rhinegold kick for a bit now.

And.

This. This thing right here is about as *loud* as I get, you meet me in person, you more than likely wouldn't know me.

Yep.

I'm a strong, silent type ...enough on me. In closing. If we can see eye to eye on at minimum a couple issues and you don't mind somebody who doesn't say alot unless he's gotta' ...I think ...at least I hope ...I can prove to be a fairly worthy pal.

As you can prolly already tell.

Music is KEY in my life!

So then.

Um. So.

Rock! ... Roll!

Behave yourself!

Pass The Paintbrush, Honey.

And.(2)

Sleep well, don't burst.

My freshly begun Live Journal. Drop by and say hey, eh.
