Bulletproof’s story of rock and roll delight began in 2003, when high-school friends guitarist David Widmayer and vocalist Cammila Albertson reconnected in college over the prospect of starting a band. They began sampling various musical styles in the vein of plodding, melodic prog rock and after bringing in bassist Ryan Hyde (known for his remarkable visage as "Jesus," in those days before he cut his hair), and played under the cumbersome name Out of the Water. But they soon realized that they all had too much ballsiness and moxie to be playing anything but sassy, up-tempo pop-rock, drawing on influences like the Pretenders, the Sounds, and Blondie. Focusing on Hyde’s strong bass lines and Albertson’s wailing, Pat Benatar-esque vocals, they brought in drummer Rob Logan of a Working Model, started afresh as an punk rocking powerpop band, and christened themselves Bulletproof, after a line in an Adult Swim cartoon. Our oh-so-sexy heroes subsequently began enjoying regular rotation at Ypsi’s Elbow Room, and other hot-spots around the Ypsi/Ann Arbor area.
After building up a respectable collection of danceable, high energy tunes, Bulletproof compiled five of their best tracks and recorded them on an EP, Running Guns, which they self-released in 2007....

Seems like I blinked my eyes and almost a year has gone by since I started this journey that lead up to my album being released this week.
I was sitting here looking at almost 10,000 comments that have been sent since that time and went back and started reading some of the first ones I received. Of which you were a part of.
You were one of the first to support me and I felt like I needed to come back and let you know I have not, nor will I ever, forget that you were one of the first people here for me when this all began.
Thank you does not seem to be enough, but I'll say it anyways.
Thank you for being there when I was just some chick with a MySpace page and a couple of old songs that weren't the greatest, and you still encouraged me to pursue my dream. That will never be forgotten no matter what does or does not happen in my future.
