You Are Hear is my alternative/experimental new music show broadcasting since 2002, we also podcast live sessions, festival specials, archive interviews, new music and gigs. Linked on our website.
I've been djing back since 1986 strictly quirky music. One of my first gigs was DJing at MBV gig on my 17th birthday at the old Tropic Club in Bristol, I was in and started a few bands over the years just for love and fun, been in South London since 1988 and started doing radio stuff in 1998 and went on to help set up Resonance FM
I like to keep myself busy with all manor of radio, sound and music projects. As well as You Are Hear, I produced hundreds of shows such as the The Lounge of Pleasure, Burning Decks and many radio specials for Resonance including the now legendary 24 hour Throbbing Gristle special aired on Xmas day. I'm researching a PhD on the future of radio art at LCC and running London Radio Arts projects and teaching radio production at Canterbury Christ Church University.

Magz Exhibitions
2000: Produced a four speaker sound installation Brighton Rocks in a shipping Container for Norsden arts Festival in Groningen Holland.
2001: Produced ambisonic 8 speaker soundtrack exhibited at the British Museum and the Sainsbury Centre For Visual Arts as part of the Norman Foster Studio retrospective "Exploring the City".
2003: Organised the fundraising compilation album Flat Pack Antenna set up Hearing Aid Records to release this to raise funds for Resonance FM raised over £5000, featuring 29 contributing artists, it received three stars in The Times.
May 2005: Curated Circle of Sound a group sound art show held at the Foundry Gallery in May 2005 featuring: Jim Backhouse, Disinformation, Iris Garrelfs, Magz Hall, Kaffe Mathews, Tracey Moberly,
Jason Synnott, Dan Wilson, DJ Wrongspeed. Sharon Gal and Moshi Honen.
October 2005:

zu gast bei bander bender in oktober, der britischer klangkünstler ben gwilliam, der sich auch hauptsächlich dem experimentieren mit tonbändern gewidmet hat. ben arbeitet unter anderem mit grossen, alten "reel-to-reel" tonbandgeräten & beschäftigt sich improvisierend mit zufall, zerfall, stille & zunehmend auch mit den innewohnenden klängen von leeren bändern. die zwei spontankomponisten werden ihre individuellen klangwelten vorstellen in kürzeren solo-sets, gefolgt von einer spannenden duo-premiere.

wenn ich mit achim kämper musik mache, spielt sich das thema von der tv serie golden girls in meinem kopf ab, mit seiner recht eingängigen melodie, aber vor allem mit seinem schönem text. obwohl eine solche geistige gegenveranstaltung das gemeinsame improvisieren sicherlich erschweren kann, ist es aber doch eher ein sehr gutes zeichen, was dieses tape-dj's gemüt angeht. eine ehemalige freundin von mir hatte mir mal eine geschichte erzählt von einem nicht allzu hellen punker-bekannten, der gerade schwer begeistert eine band mit zwei schlagzeugern gesehen hatte & nur rauskriegte: "boah eh, es war der hammer...die haben chromosom gespielt." ich glaube von mir & achim, kann ich das zu recht behaupten; wir teilen auf jeden fall eine menge musikalisches erbmaterial. in echtzeit gebastelt wird unter anderem ambient tapeno, haunted house, oldskool kosmische musik & freethiopiques. & if you threw a party & invited every one you ever knew...
