Looking thru a busted kaleidoscope to see Dinosaur Jr. stomping the Smashing Pumpkins underneath the flames of the Arcade Fire.
Formed on the precipice of the fast-approaching apocalypse, You Are The War That I Want decided to write upbeat, lo-fi songs about the current state of living and breathing: love, politiks, and ennui. Years later -- with still no hard fast signs of Jesus' return – the band's music carries on (somewhere in cyberspace and on some kid's ipod). You might want to dance, or you might want to run, but either way, you'll soon learn this is the war that you want.
You Are The War That I Want have shared the spotlight with Devin Davis, Miranda Sound, Mr. Gnome, Quija Radio, and The Takeover UK. And, have played with great bands at The Zou's Noveua Rock Fest and Vexfest IV. Dare we say, we've enjoyed them all.
The self-titled, 6-track debut EP was released August 2007. It was recorded at Ampreon Recording in Youngstown with Pete Drivere. Contact us for a copy. We may play again in this incarnation, one day.
