Juan Ignacio “Nacho” Londoño nació en Medellin, Colombia el 28 de septiembre del 1982. A los 6 años de edad comenzó a interesarse por la música ya que su vecino tocaba guitarra y escuchaba bandas como: The Doors, The Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd y Black Sabbath.
Siempre rodeado de músicos y compositores a muy temprana edad, comprendió que la música seria una parte muy importante en la vida del compositor.
En el año 1999 partió para Miami, Florida, EE.UU., donde comenzaría a tomar la música a un nivel mucho mas serio. En en el colegio (Miami Beach Senior High School) participó en el grupo musical conocido como “Rock Ensemble” donde comenzó como ingeniero de sonido y luego como uno de los vocalistas del grupo. Durante ese periodo tuvo la oportunidad de compartir y trabajar con Doug Burris, director de la banda y maestro de la escuela. También tuvo la oportunidad de compartir con Tom Dowd en varias ocasiones. Tom Dowd fue ingeniero de sonido de artistas como Aretha Franklin, Otis Lynyrd y The Allman Brothers Band.
Al terminar sus estudios en la escuela superior, comenzó a estudiar música en Miami Dade College. Durante el primer año de su carrera universitaria tomó la iniciativa de salir y tocar en clubs, barras y open mics, donde compartió escenario con: Locos Por Juana, Brazilian Girls, Carlos Alberto "Nito" Mestre (ex-integrante de Sui Generis), Jorge Moreno, Yerba Buena, Jorge “Teresito” Correa, Jesse Jackson, Volumen Cero, Sóniko y muchos más. Durante esa etapa tuvo la oportunidad de trabajar con el productor Juan Pablo Manzanero (hijo del compositor y cantante Armando Manzanero), A.T. Molina (productor de bandas como Locos Por Juana y Jorge Moreno) e Itagüí de Locos Por Juana (La Juana Productions).
En el 2005 formó una exitosa banda llamada Don Juan producida por Doc Wiley (Sonic Verve Studios) donde participó en varios festivales como Carnival of the Mile, Latin Funk Festival, Calle Ocho y una cadena de conciertos en las universidades de Puerto Rico. En el año 2007 decidió continuar su carrera como solista colaborando con varios compositores como Fabian Alicastro y German Ortiz.
El 25 de abril del 2007, en compañia de Karl Avanzini (director de ASCAP Latino East Coast), Juan Ignacio “Nacho” Londoño participó en el ASCAP/Billboard Latin Showcase donde compartió escenario con el cantautor Coti. A finales del 2007, Nacho permaneció en Puerto Rico componiendo y tocando en varias universidades y clubs fuera y dentro de la capital.
Nacho se encuentra componiendo y grabando nuevo material para su lanzamiento a finales del 2008.
Juan Ignacio “Nacho” Londoño was born September 28, 1982 in Medellin, Colombia. By the age of six, Nacho’s interest in music began to flourish thanks to a friendly neighbor who introduced him to the musical genius of bands such as The Doors, The Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd and Black Sabbath.
In the year 1999 Nacho moved to Miami, Florida where he took his love for music to a higher level. In high school (Miami Beach Senior High School) he was part of the school band known as “Rock Ensemble” where he worked as sound engineer and later moved on to become vocalist. During this time, he had the opportunity to work and befriend Doug Burris, band director and school professor, as well as Tom Dowd, sound engineer for icons such as Aretha Franklin, Otis Lynyrd and The Allman Brothers Band.
After graduating from high school, Nacho decided to further his education and focus on Music Studies in Miami Dade College. During his freshman year in college, he took the initiative to get out there and play in clubs, bars and open mic events all over Miami. His name and music became well-known and he went on to share the stage with several artists, the likes of Locos Por Juana, Brazilian Girls, Carlos Alberto “Nito” Mestre (ex-member of Sui Generis), Jorge Moreno, Yerba Buena, Jorge “Teresito” Correa, Jesse Jackson, Volumen Cero, Sóniko and many more. He also had the opportunity to work with proucers Juan Pablo Manzanero (son of singer/songwriter Armando Manzanero), A.T. Molina (producer of artists like Locos Por Juana and Jorge Moreno) and Itagüí, frontman of Locos Por Juana (La Juana Productions).
In 2005, Nacho formed the band Don Juan, produced by Doc Wiley of Sonic Verve Studios. The success of and high demand for Don Juan led him to play in several music festivals such as Carnival of the Mile, Latin Funk Festival, Calle Ocho and tour the university circuit in Puerto Rico. However, in 2007 Nacho decided to continue his career as a solo artist, occasionally collaborating with composers such as Fabian Alicastro and German Ortiz.
April 25, 2007 – Nacho, with the help of Karl Avanzini (director of ASCAP Latino East Coast), performed in the ASCAP/Billboard Latin Showcase where he shared the stage with the successful Argentinean singer/songwriter Coti. By the end of 2007, Nacho went on to Puerto Rico to continue composing and playing in clubs, universities, and venues in and around San Juan, the island’s cosmopolitan and diverse capital.
Juan Ignacio “Nacho” Londoño is currently writing and recording new material to be released by the end of 2008.
