Who I'd like to meet:
This is a defining moment! With Congress making decisions that will define the future of health care in America for a generation, we don't have a moment to waste! We need your help.
The bottom line is that women's basic health care must be a priority, and that means women must not be worse off under health care reform. Reproductive health care must be covered and women must be able to access that care through providers they trust.
Our message is loud and clear: Women must not be worse off after health care reform than they are today! Please consider joining us on August 11, 1-3pm when we will be phone banking to keep the drumbeat for women’s health going strong.
We have a long road ahead of us in this fight to ensure that reproductive health care is included in the final bill presented to the President, and we can’t do it without you! The House recesses on July 31 and the Senate recesses on August 7. Key members of Congress will be back in their districts and we need to keep the pressure on!
Calling other Planned Parenthood supporters and urging them to contact their members of Congress is the most important thing that we can do right now. We can’t do it without you! Please contact Judith at Judith.selzer@ppsoflo.org to find a phone bank location near you!

Thousands of Floridians from around the state signed our petition to Gov. Crist urging his Department of Community Affairs (DCA) to reject two developments, including a Lowe's big box retail center that threatened the Everglades. On Friday, DCA did exactly that.
But our work isn't done. Lowe's, who still wants to cement urban sprawl to the edge of the Everglades, plans to fight this decision.
"We feel confident that the decision will be overturned,'' declared a Lowe's attorney in response to the DCA's decision.
There are 111 Lowe's stores in Florida but there's only one Everglades.
We need to send a message to Lowe's right now and tell them to protect the Everglades, not pave it.

The voice of Floridians made the difference in the DCA's decision, and it can make the difference again by putting pressure on Lowe's to drop their legal efforts that threaten the Everglades.
