   Young and Hungry's Blurbs
About me:
Young & Hungry started life in 1994 at Bats theatre as a series of one act plays designed to give young people, aged between 15-25 years, the opportunity to partake in a professional theatre environment under the direction of professional theatre practitioners. Since then it has significantly grown and is now run by the Young and Hungry Arts Trust.************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************* The Young & Hungry Festival is currently comprised of 3 new New Zealand scripts written specifically for youth audiences, developed and performed in a professional theatre context. The Festival runs over a three-week season at BATS Theatre, with each of the 3 productions being performed every night. **************************************************************************************************************************** “After the sell-out success of 2007’s season we’re back with award-winning playwrights and the hottest new talent off and on stage in Wellington,” says producer Sally Richards. “Prime yourself for fast, furious, fertile, fantastic fun!” ************************************************************** We are proud to present in our exhilarating 2008 season: ************************************************************** 6.30pm- Yolk By Arthur Meek | Directed by Celia Nicholson A sharp comedy about relationships, choices and . . . sex in a tent! ************************************************************* 8.00pm- Swan Song By Branwen Millar | Directed by Willem Wassenaar A magical, mysterious rollercoaster about how much it would suck to die at 17! ************************************************************* 9.30pm- RPM By Dave Armstrong | Director: Leo Gene Peters A racy dramatic-comedy about hormone fuelled teens and the cars they drive. ************************************************************* BOOK NOW AT BATS: Young and Hungry 2008 20 June – 5 July BATS Theatre 6.30pm, 8.00pm & 9.30pm Bookings: 04 802 4175 or book@bats.co.nz Tickets: $16/12 or a three show season pass $38/24
Who I'd like to meet:
Young and Hungry‘s 14th Annual Season is sure to be stellar with a line-up of 3 new kiwi scripts. Don’t miss these fantastic plays, developed and performed by enthusiastic, talented youth that have a hunger for the arts.

“Kent, Forman and Marment pull out all the stops in racy, energised portrayals of the three school kids . . . they make each of their characters real and as believable as possible with such a script. The raw brutality they bring to the final scenes makes for very compelling theatre. Though not to everyone's liking, it is nevertheless still worth seeing.” – Dom Post, Wellington
