In 1996, rock band Dernrutlidge emerged from the Melbourne music scene, a four piece band that would lend their ear to the loud and heavy meaning of rock'n roll.
A unique style of music from the underground started to take centre stage with the sell out of Australia wide shows and even a tour of Europe. Dernrutlidge was invited to play major Aussie festivals including the 2002 Big Day Out. Receiving acclaim and respect from fans and the industry brought about the national radio air play of hit single Lines on the table - the song became a musical cultural anthem sung by their fans at their shows. JJJ radio invited the boys to an acoustic session in the plastic room in Sydney but in 2003 Dernrutlidge decided to call it a day exploring and experiencing various bands and solo sounds.
In January 2006 Dernrutlidge decided to reunite and perform a one off reunion show which was a sell out event to a packed room that ended up breaking the bar record at the Ding Dong Lounge in Melbourne. The reunion show was also done to announce to Dernrutlidge fans that the band was back again, actively writing and playing together under the new identity of youngbreeder.
youngbreeder are:
Jason PC - bass, other bands: blood duster, dolphin stabbers?
Jason M - guitar, other bands: christbait, dernrutlidge
Cal - drums, other bands: drool, dernrutlidge
Craig - guitar, vocals, other bands: christbait, dernrutlidge, sealfinger, the godless few, budd.
