Young Church has become a major force to be reckoned with in the urban music scene. From his days starting out in the game as a college radio DJ to becoming a respected rapper and one of the most anticipated unsigned artist from the west coast, hes commanded the attention of the industry and the streets and wont let go.
Young Church was DJing and promoting records back when he was just beginning to rap professionally. His freestyles on some of the biggest DJs mixtapes (Felli Fel, Cali Untouchables, Tony Touch, 3rd Rail) quickly made him one of the most popular rookies in the game, particularly in Los Angeles. That mixtape buzz lead him to release an independent single that got love all over the map. Soon after, Church was embraced by the rap community and was featured on songs with Kurupt, Roscoe, The Federation, Tha Liks, J Live, Juice, Son Doobie, Sporty-O, Mistah F.A.B., Snoop Dogg, Chico & Coolwadda, Stu Stone and Wordsworth.
His first single, Decisions, on Landspeed records, smashed the Mix Show & Rap charts and even broke its way into Soundscans top 200 (ny). Young Church has managed to captivate his audience by consistently dropping 12s and remaining a dominant force on the mixtape and radio scene. Church's debut album, Get Church or Die Prayin' Vol.1, will be released in the near future. In his free time he stays in the studio recording drops and working on his group, Luchiano's album.
Young Church is also an emerging producer most recently working on a collaboration with Chicago's freestyle legend J.U.I.C.E. Church is also a skilled clothing designer, having a partnership with a Los Angeles-based company called Westyle, specializing in urban-California wear seen on Snoop Dogg, Aly Landry, Cypress Hill and several NBA players as well. He recognizes the remarkable earning power of todays hip-hop icon and has already begun to capitalize on it.
Its clear that Young Church is ready to be exposed as the next sensation in Hip-Hop. His combinations of rhythmical style and meticulous lyrics have been described by fans as refreshing. Riggs Morales of THE SOURCE stated "(Young Church) knows how to make music for his audience effective vocal tone, mixed with catching punch lines ranging from battles to chicks to getting caught between a rock and a hard place."
