Sounds Like
Our sound is best described as a mix of honky tonk, country, roots rock, and blues. We perform covers and originals. We play country songs like Folsom Prison Blues by Johnny Cash and Dang Me by Roger Miller. We like going back to the original performance and writing style when looking for songs to play. Nothing beats the timeless sound of these songs and the universal truth behind the honest words that define the spirit of American music.
5 drunk jerks had this notion see.... It started many years ago in Marc's basement with Steve poundin' them skins and Marc singin' and bass slappin'. Kinda bluesy country with lots of Velvet Underground songs splashed in for good measure. Marc called up ol' El-Diablo. A known hard rock/punk jerk. It was magic!!! Marc sez to the devil "git us sum more jerks to jam with!". So El-Diablo raided the Yoroka band and pulled out their master of the gold top Les Paul playin' Matt and asked him to blow them harps he's always carryin' 'round in his pockets for the Younger Dryas. (He said yes.) Dan was easy. Diablo and Dan have been playin' guitars together for years and years. So now there is this "super group" of jerks ready to punch the stupid face of "modern country music" in the mouth and steal it's whiskey, weed, and women all by playin' that old fashioned honky-tonk sound the way they want. So they did. And still do.
Younger Dryas
Hey, hope you are doing well......i've got a busy couple of months coming up. I'm touring the UK for the first time in June with Kevin Montgomery, and then right back to New York for a show at the Lincoln Center on the 29th with the Texas Playboys.
I hear my name is originally English.........."All-sup"-meaning everyone raise their glasses and drink up!!! It took me 75 years, but i'm finally making there.
Anyway, here is a video about the tour, and with some footage from last year in Crete at Songs in the Sun-Crete--you can see it on youtube here www.youtube.com/watch?v=KWCZkbJM3rg, or by going to my myspace.
Take care, and hope to see you soon.
Tommy
