The Youngest is the musical dream of Amy Learmonth and friends. Amy lives in Toronto and writes delicate, darkly nostalgic folk songs, each with a healthy dose of hope. All of Amy's first memories as a child involve music - singing and playing were a natural part of everyday life at home. Amy remembers singing at her parents dinner parties, promising herself at the age of four that she'd always sing through-out her life. Hours alongside her Father on the piano bench, Amy learned her first songs from 'Simon and Garfunkel' and 'The Mamas and the Papas' songbooks. Amy is fascinated at how memories shrink and grow and have a life of their own, and she likens her songs to memories - never the same way twice. The Youngest is currently recording a new record featuring Alex Edkins, Hayden Menzies, Erin Lang and a hand-full of dear musician-friends. The Youngest's newest recording, "Two Good Hearts," is part of a fundraising compilation CD called Hibiscus & Rosehips and can be purchased online by going here....http://www.hibiscusandrosehips.com/. The Youngest's first 5 song demo self-released in 2007 called, "Early Recordings" is still available by mail or at shows. The Youngest wishes to thank all the beautiful fans who shower us with love. We are forever grateful for your support.
