February 10, 1949 - Wilkes-Barre, PA: Welterweight World Champion Sugar Ray Robinson, forced to honor an old contract, was incensed to find himself in a title match with no-name Philadelphia boxer Young Gene Buffalo; Robinson knocked Buffalo out in the opening seconds of the first round.

Today, the modern american highway system often follows the trampled paths of migrating buffalo herds.
