My idol has been Janet Jackson ever since I was a little girl. I remember watching MTV when I was like 5 and her videos used to come on... I would bug out! I would start copying all of her moves and I would style my hair like hers and used to roll up my shirts to show my stomach like she did. I used to write Oprah letters begging her to help me meet her but when I found out Oprah had a 4 year waiting list I stopped writing lol. I just look up to her in so many ways, with dancing and musically as well. Her style is dope. Hey Myspacers! Thanks for visiting my page. My name is Melanie Iglesias. I grew up in the greatest city that ever existed... NYC! I was born in Brooklyn but have lived in different parts of New York. I'm currently going after my dreams of becoming a commercial/pop recording artist. I sing dance/pop music and I'm currently working on my album with a very talented team of producers. We're not signed yet but have managed to capture the interest of many major labels who are intrigued by the huge potential of the project. I wrote every song you hear on this page. I'm very hands on, even in production. We're going to finish up the album before we act on anything. We're more than halfway there. Check back for updates to learn more about our music project. I'd love to meet anyone who is chasing their dreams- Especially young people who have a been through a lot but never let it consume them... because that's my story. So, I'd like to meet anyone like me. A lot of people are not aware of the immense amount of struggling I went through just to get to where I am today. I feel SO blessed to have overcome all of the hardships and still have the strength to proceed. You would never know just by looking at me because I maintain myself. I know the secret. If nothing has stopped me yet, I'm not stopping... ever. It's crazy- people are always shocked when I open my mouth and they see how serious I am about this (and how I'm not dumb). Assume all you want about me and how I'm probably just a "pretty face." It doesn't bother me because you're only putting me in a more powerful position. Expect the unexpected.
