Hey. My music taste is impeccable ha-ha.

Checkout Electric Assembly on my top friends theyre my friends band I think they’re perfect.

Sorry to punk you with that Dino Jr CD. I was tryna say I found it in the sale...sadly there’s only one copy. Worth it for the live version of 'What Else Is New'.

I love Ballard haven’t read that one tho. I found this Ballard Quote and I’ve know idea where its from but its the one of the most amazing things I've ever read:

I believe in maps, diagrams, codes, chess-games, puzzles, airline timetables, airport indicator signs

I believe in the next five minutes

I believe in the history of my feet

I believe in migraines, the boredom of afternoons, the fear of calendars, the treachery of clocks

I believe in anxiety, psychosis and despair

I believe in the perversions, in the infatuations with trees, princesses, prime ministers, derelict filling stations, clouds and birds

I believe in the light cast by video-recorders in department store windows, in the messianic insights of the radiator grilles of showroom automobiles, in the elegance of the oil stains on the engine nacelles of 747s parked on airport tarmacs

I believe in the gentleness of the surgeon's knife, in the limitless geometry of the cinema screen, in the hidden universe within supermarkets, in the loneliness of the sun, in the garrulousness of planets, in the repetitiveness or ourselves, in the inexistence of the universe and the boredom of the atom.

I kind of know what you mean - he was a little non-showy. I thought the music was ace, and I love the new album, but yeah, he seemed a little reserved, shall we say. I've seen a couple of shows where he's been like that, but I've also seen him going crazy. I have to say though, that it can't of helped having a shit load of baffled Morrissey fans staring at him like he was some kind of anti-christ. Mozza was great wasn't he? Just a shame about some of his fans...funny bunch...

Haha sorry. I thought about warning you, but I figured it'd be best to let you dive right into its full graphic glory. So you enjoyed it?

Notes from Underground kicks ass! Crime and Punishment is good too, but I definitely enjoyed Notes much more. It's shorter too, and a relatively quick read.

What are some of your favorite books?

OMGOSH! Okay I think I officially love you. I swear no one here in america reads. Everyone here is like "Doistoivisk who?" I love Dostoevsky so much! I think I'm going to get his face tattooed on me. I found this killer drawing of him a few months back:
Photobucket

Soooo fierce.

Sadly I haven't read the idiot, but it's on my list after I finish The Brothers Karamazov. It's a hell of a novel. It's like 1000 pages, almost! And actually it was intended to be just the *first part* of his magnum opus trilogy, but sadly he died before he was able to work on the rest of it. *Tear* Have you ever read it? Or any of his other works?

And what did you think of Guts?

I don't actually recommend lullaby. I mean, it's not a bad book, but he definitely has better ones. There are some good parts like the part about the judas cow, or the scene where he has sex with his dead wife (he doesn't realize she is dead). That part is pretty fucking sweet. But as a whole it's pretty mediocre.

Fight club is one of those books where the movie is on par, or even *better* than the book so don't worry, you're not missing out on that one. If you haven't seen the movie though, you def should check it out. It's a great film. Brad Pitt has the most killer abs in it.

My favorite is Invisible Monsters, which is about a supermodel who has this total freak accident and gets her jaw shot off, so she goes from being this gorgeous center of attention to something so hideous that no one dares to even acknowledge her existence. It's pretty fierce. Haunted is pretty good too, or at least it has some pretty intense parts that make up for some other more lackluster chapters. You should definitely check out the chapter "Guts," which is readily available all over the internet. It's pretty fierce.

Sorry for typing so much, but I am a bibliophile... I could talk about books all day!

Jun 17 2008 10:09 AM

Actually, don't thank me, thank my roommate's diet pepsi addiction. Haha. We've been looping it with Emmy songs all morning. I doubt we're the first ones to get it, but we are probably the only people in north america to!

Are you a Chuck Palahniuk fan? He writes this whole thing on judas cows in Lullaby... It's the only place I've heard of them. I was pretty sure he made it up, but who knows. Well, maybe you know.
