Young Lovers are breaking up!! They were an explosive London based four-piece. They played fast, energetic, hard rock, glam, pop 'n' roll.
Then...
Jon, guitarist, met John, Drums, backstage at a Leeds Festival back in 2002 whilst in separate bands adjacent on the bill. Their alliance was cemented by an ill advised stage invasion and subsequent scuffle with security later that day. Five years, numerous bands and a relocation later, they decided to form a band together and set about recruiting the other members...
After a healthy response to the numerous crude advertisements they chose to audition two teenage girls who had discarded reasonable caution and replied via the Internet. On Vocals, was the purple haired and classically trained chorister, Bryony. On Bass duties was the then beginner, Jess. The pair, aced their auditions (screaming the place down and mounting the bass drum respectively) and joined the gang.
The Idea...
The plan, as discussed at their first meeting, was to make music with ENERGY. Nothing that drags, nothing 'rinky tinky'. Classic, but, not regressive. Music that you could stand on stage, with a devilish gleam in your eye, knowing the crowd would soon be bouncing off the walls. Music that's loud and fast.
Now...
Young Lovers are now working on other projects. Stay tuned!.

As 2009 begins to crawl out from beneath the financially crippled shadow of the previous year we thought we’d say hello and try and spread our positive news. After all talk is cheap.
- We have recorded with Roger Fife whose previous credits include The Manics, Tricky, Anthony and the Johnsons etc and you can hear the tracks on our space now.
‘Apparition’ will be released in March with an industry launch at Proud Galleries, Camden on the 24th of that month.
- We’ve been described as “a fresh and exciting sound for 2009” by Dave Halliwell (ex Verve manager)
- This weekend we play Cambridge Corn Exchange in support of local MS charities, shortly before Morrissey and Glasvegas do the same in a few weeks time.
- Next Friday we are at 229, UCL Student Union in Westminster.

Wednesday 15th October. The Shills are on at 9.20pm at Bar Rumba as main support for Mark Matthews and the 1T's. It's two for one as far as drinks go before 8.30 which should hopefully help put the night in gear.
Tickets are £6 I believe and can be purchased either from this webpage: http://www. ticketweb. co. uk/user/?region=gb_london&query=detail&event=282550 or alternatively through one of us on the night. Failing that you can get them on the door but this will cost you a full £8. Tell your friends. After the cancelled gig last week we're all pretty eager to play so it should be a more than tolerable night in every respect.
