---This studio is run by musicians and songwriters. We've found this to come in very
handy when recording. Not all engineers are musicians. We are youthful, enthusiastic,
positive and fun.
---We believe in the importance of good gear, but feel that musicians don't need to
spend large amounts of money to get a great recording. Of course nice microphones,
preamps and compressors help, but we believe that ears, technique and nice gear are
most important, in that order.
---Gary earned a BA in Audio Production, has been a recording engineer since 1992 and
a musician for longer. As a sideman he was signed to Virgin Records where he got the
experience of recording with platinum producer Nellee Hooper (Bjork, Madonna,
Smashing Pumpkins, No Doubt, Massive Attack). Gary has lived and worked in San
Francisco, LA, London and NY.

More Options for recording
As if Pro Tools doesn't give us enough options...
Gary is also an engineer at Sonart Recording Studio in Mt. Tremper, NY. If your budget
allows, we can record drums with their superb gear and top of the line mic collection
and bring those tracks here to add layers and mix.

I think may have ruined young love's home and country gardens motif. Let's get together this time you can set something of ours on fire. Would you maybe wanna come down to Beacon this weekend? If your busy I'll come up on Tuesday.
hey guys! just wanted to let you know that i made the top 15 semi-finals for "join the jam" at www.wdst.com so you can go on and vote for me to play mountain jam! and it was all from the amazing recording work you do! hope all is well!
Gary you couldn't do anything to topple our already profound appreciation for your black ass. We're playing Snug's tomorrow. Maybe we could come up early and hang out. perchance we could check out the studio and make some plans
THAT WAS SO INTERESTING. I have heard of Jeffery Lewis in the past, but had never investigated. Thank you so much. I never watch videos people link me to but that drew me right in and I watch the whole thing.
I'm about halfway done with my fourth album which I will definitely record myself. Maybe after that, though, I'll try to write some "bigger" songs. I'd love to experiment a bit, and it seems as if you and I have a similar vision.
