The Young Rebel Goombas debut CD is what trop rock music is all about. Music that just makes you feel good. A real nice mix of reggae, rock, and harmonies. Three of my favorite things! Oh, and Richie Cannata is the sax player, how cool is that? Goombas everybody!

I dig the Young Rebel Goombas! The SoupyGato Show is so proud we were the first show to play their wonderful music. The sounds of YRG cause movement. This is get up and dance, clean the house with a wiggle in your hip, yard work with sun and full teeth smiles. Certain combination of sounds affect us for both the positive and the negative. They nailed the good time vibe, mad scientists wearing Hawaiian shirts. I am soo hungry for cajun shrimp! And not only are they gifted musicians they are all class. As I said we are truly proud the the universe had the stars alined so our paths crossed at the correct time.
Also I call the Library Church. I am listening to their tune Library Book as I write, and I am swaying as I type. Yah man the Young Rebel Goombas make me sway. I dig that.... I truly dig that....

I had the pleasure of meeting the Young Rebel Goombas at the 2007 New York Emmy's Awards. They won for best musical score written for a documentary. After listening to thier new album, I was instantly attracted to thier unique "trop-rock" sound. After years of listening to so many singers, groups etc. it was refreshing listening to Young Rebel Goombas fresh new sound and lyrics. They have a unique energy and talent that is all their own and I am delighted to be doing remixes and working with them on their current album The Young Rebel Goombas.

Influences
Tropical Rock is the best way to describe the Goomba music. You may feel the urge to be somewhere warm on a beach.
Young Rebel Goombas were formed by Emmy® award winning artist/composers Richie Saccente and Cosmo Mallardi, two cousins with a long history of musical accomplishments. The band also features percussionists Brian "Uncle B" Johnson and Randy Knudsen, and guitarist Kevin McCann. Legendary sax player Richie Cannata, best known for his work with Billy Joel (Big Shot, Just the Way You Are, New York State of Mind, etc.), The Beach Boys, Elton John and others lends his amazing talents to the Goomba sound.
Young Rebel Goombas have become very popular with Parrotheads and rockers alike. The sound is new and fresh, yet draws influences from such iconic acts as Jimmy Buffett, Chicago, The Eagles, Bob Marley, The Beach Boys, The Allman Brothers and Billy Joel. Vocal harmonies are predominant in all performances.
