On Young Seb’s 16th birthday, the San Francisco native went to Los Angeles and came home with a Sony/BMG Latin record deal under his belt. But YS is too focused putting the finishing touches on his feel good debut album, “Just Getting Started”, to live it up just yet. “There hasn’t been room to celebrate, there’s no stopping now,” YS says. “Now I have to grind even harder.”
When YS says, “This whole music thing runs in my blood,” he means it. Raised on both salsa and local underground hip hop, he started rapping with his uncle at age nine and laid down his first track at eleven with his father, well-known Bay Area (Northern California) producer, Swampkat. So while YS may be a relative newcomer to the airwaves, he’s been hard at work, honing his craft for almost his entire life. “I got my own studio called Tha Kompound that my family and I built by hand,” YS explains. Tha Kompound is where YS has been busy creating his own special blend of surefire, radio friendly hits, including the lead single, “High School Wifey”, which has already been gaining steam. “I write my own material and my dad produces all the beats. Whenever I feel something coming on, I just pick up a pad and a pen.”
And once he steps out of Tha Kompound, after years spent prepping to take over the top spot, the Nicaraguan and Samoan rapper is sure to take over the charts by storm. His playboy raps guarantee to make every young lady feel like a special someone and is sure to send teenage girls into a frenzy. “There’s always that one girl, that certain girl, your high school sweetheart,” YS says of the inspiration behind “High School Wifey.” And just because he’s only a junior in high school, don’t think that the football player isn’t on top of his game. He masterfully hollers at women left and right on “Honeys” featuring platinum recording R&B artist Frankie J and in “Yadadamean” he unabashedly spits, “I’m only 15, still got a curfew/so I gotta go to bed, you can come to bed too.”
Though he’s set for stardom, YS still takes time out for normal teenage pastimes like playing video games, partying, and hanging out at the mall. And he promises that he’s keeping his head on straight. “I like to be down to earth with all my folks because getting cocky leads nowhere,” he says. But YS has no doubt that he’s headed for the top of the charts, and is ready to take over airwaves nationwide. So young rappers and crooners should consider themselves warned — YS is here, and all eyes will be gazing his way as he climbs his way towards the throne to claim the crown. “Anybody who can make it on the radio is my competition,” he recognizes, though there’s been no one like him before. “But I have something that no one else is doing. I’m not trying to replace nobody, I’m just trying to play my part in the game.”

I casted my single vote in a small Samoan congegational church in Long Beach, CA. that was transformed into a voting poll that had atleast a 2hour wait in line. But it was worth the wait. Now, everyone in the country can truly see the change that has happened and what a phenomenal future we have ahead of us as proud americans!!! We did it folks!! We changed the course of history and now they will finally recognize the voice of the minority!!!
